Guest Soniczt3000 Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Hi, a couple of weeks ago I received a Brando screen Protector Plus ordered from an ebay shop, for my Omnia I900. Everything after the install was very fine, the protector looked very good and resistant, and I was very pleased of the final result and I thought that my mobile screen was correctly protected. However, today morning, while I was simply dragging my nails over the protector, I scratched it. The scracth is 2 centimetes long and it looks very ugly, I'm really sorry and disappointed because the protector is only two weeks old and above all is declared as scratch-proof, but I managed to ruin it in a too easy way (during normal usage of my mobile phone!). Did I receive a damaged product? Is that normal? Which screen protector in your experience is really scratch proof? Thank you!
Guest dwallersv Posted January 25, 2009 Report Posted January 25, 2009 Short answer: None. But then, that's why we put screen protectors on in the first place. If there were a scratch-proof material, Samsung and other manufacturers would use it for the screen, and we wouldn't need screen protectors. That said, some materials are harder than others. Anything made with polyacrylic acetate will be quite scratch resistant. The problem is, it will also be less flexible than other materials, making the touchscreen less sensitive. Having done nothing to help so far, I'll offer this just as completely unhelpful advice: Don't worry about it, just get another screen protector. It's a shame you scratched it, but it did it's job, and just needs to be replaced. You can find a decent one for $5, and buy multipacks online for pretty cheap.
Guest Beardedmonk Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I got an invisible shield, and I gotta say im really happy with it. I honestly think it improved the touch response of my phone. The application of it can be kinda tricky, i kinda badword up and there are some visible bubbles, but other than that im really happy :)
Guest dwallersv Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 After my snarky reply to this thread, it got me curious so I Google'd around and found this thread. Reading through it has convinced me to purchase a BoxWave ClearTouch Crystal to replace my current protector.
Guest kurniawan Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 dude... look around, there are cheaper ones... http://www.netimes.com/shop/screen-protect...ml?cPath=87_578 i use these ones, no bubbles, easy to apply
Guest deepside Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I've ordered an invisible shield. I like the idea of not having to worry about scratching the phone when i put it down on a table, or in my pockets etc. Its apparently very hard to apply though so I hope I don't screw it up :)

I like the idea of not having to worry about scratching the phone when i put it down on a table, or in my pockets etc. Its apparently very hard to apply though so I hope I don't screw it up :) I bought an invisible shield for the whole of my omnia. covered the entire casing and made it rubbery to the touch. loved it at first but after 3 or 4 months it started to peel and I couldnt be bothered to reapply the thing. I too thought that it had improved the touch sensitivity but yesterday I removed the lot peeled it away and there was my clean baby. the shield gathers so much dirt and I cant believe how much more responsive the screen is without it ... No more screen protectors for my omnia.. just lots of loving care GG
Guest captainsensible Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Martin Fields are the best ones imho
Guest bpivk Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 Martin Fields are the best ones imho I second that. I use martin fields and invisible shield for the back. Shield is jut too rubbery to use on the screen. But i love martins field because it invisible.
Guest karlos103 Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 I have a Martin Fields screen protector too , it is very easy to fit and fits over the whole screen unlike some other cheaper makes....but after a month of use it has loads of scratches on it ....bit dissapointed with it really considering the cost of it ..i have the phone in a ADVERTISING SPAM leather case so only thing that cause the scratches is my nails ...not good !!!
Guest bqst Posted January 26, 2009 Report Posted January 26, 2009 After my snarky reply to this thread, it got me curious so I Google'd around and found this thread. Reading through it has convinced me to purchase a BoxWave ClearTouch Crystal to replace my current protector. I'm happy with the boxwave crystal on my i910. However, my wife has a generic protector purchased as a package set on ebay with a silcone case and chargers, and it seems just as good after about a month of use. We'll see if any differences become apparent with time... -Ben
