Guest sponrob Posted January 27, 2009 Report Posted January 27, 2009 Hours and hours of time spent, I decided to spend with my family instead. Verizon has stolen enough from us. For $59 on ebay, got my keychain sized BT external gps. installed TOMTOM and maps on SD. Guess what? I got awesome gps, and time with the kids instead of fighting city hall ( verizon) They can eat their VZ Navigator.

Guest sponrob Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 thats a great idea, can you post a link of what you got? THANKS Its the Freedom GPS 2000. Look on ebay. I found mine for $59.00
Guest somedude Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) I almost feel like caving in and getting a external gps, but im going to wait it out until verizon unlocks the gps. I would feel kinda cheated if i bought a external gps when my phone already has one built in. It defeats the purpose for me even getting the phone. Edited January 29, 2009 by somedude

Guest webcrush Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Yep, I bought a Freedom GPS receiver two years ago and used it with my Motorola Q. Now I use it with the Omina/TomTom and its even better (Q didn't have touch screen, had to use virtual mouse cursor).
Guest krelvinaz Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 (edited) I use a WinTec GPS that is both a standalone tracker and GPS device, and has both USB and Bluetooth so that I can use it on my notebook (USB) or my phone. Very small, battery lasts a long time etc... worked well with my i760 and now works great on my i910 Omnia Edited January 29, 2009 by krelvinaz

I know my v6 doesn't really work right, nor can it find my external GPS.
