Greetings.

They both are finger friendly interfaces. Manila 2d is the interface from HTC touch phones. Mobile shell is a 3rd party interface which also allows finger scrolling. You will find different opinions about which one is better, it is a matter of taste and prefferences.

IMHO Mobile shell is much easier to install and customize. It works well in portrait and landscape modes. I am not sure about MAnila 2d.

Here is the thread how to install Manila 2d:

Here is one for Mobile Shell customization (you need to install Shell first):

Just my 2 cents here. Hope it helps.

Thanks you your answers.

One more question. If i would like to install manila, do i have to change ROM in my Samsung i900? I'm asking because i read on one forum that i have and on another that i don't have to :)

Hi Pajhiwo, best would be you take a new ROM with manila integrated so flash it and you'll be fine and also better working system against the original.

One more thing manila is for free, SPB isn't free nobody did mention this.

Have fun :)

What is the difference between flashing the ROM with manila, as opposed to just running the cab? Will I save memory and thus make it faster or what?

Almost all cooked ROMs with or without Manila will have other tweaks done to it and programs added/removed . Most of the time they also give you better productivity and battery life. Some are doing good job on saying what exectly was done and some are not. You need to follow the ROM discussion thread and choose the one you want. There is a potential of 'bricking' yor phone while doing flashing.

Installing Manila CABs is kind of tedious process but relatively harmless IMHO.

Getting Mobile Shell for free depends on your view about using hacked software... :)
