hello

quick question... when i fire up opera/IE on my omnia (orange network) and surf and then close IE we as usual see the signal/reception indicator and a little "3G" on top of the lower signal bars.

However, when i close the web browser, it remains on there and says its still connected to "orange internet" with a timer showing how long its on for.

My question is, when i close the web browser why doesn't that close the connection? (i am assuming its still connected as "3G" appears on top of the signal/reception bars.

I am currently closing the phone (using the connections application) and starting it up again.

is this normal thing i am experiencing?

It's still connected, but not transferring any data (unless you have other programs open in the background that also use the net). If you tap the 3G icon it should show that your connection is still active, and for how long. Hit the Disconnect button and it will close the connection.

do you mean tap the large 3G icon? (not the one on top of the signal/recpetion bar indicators)

also leaving it on i suppose if killing battery and my data mins?
