Guest k900 Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 Hi, I have a Omnia which was previously locked to the orange network and can not get the GPS to function. I have TomTom 7, Live search and Google maps installed, but none of these are able to connect to the GPS device. Under settings I have an External GPS icon but no Enhanced GPS icon. I have tried installing various apps : GPStoggle, GPSID... to no avail I have tried changing some registry settings, but this has also not helped. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks for your help.
Guest GodsGift Posted January 29, 2009 Report Posted January 29, 2009 I have an Orange UK Omnia i900 and have had no problems with the GPS. Try google maps just to see if you can get a connection. I use GM and Garmin XT and IGO8 without any problems Make sure you tick all the assisted GPS boxes in the settings GG

Guest k900 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Thanks, I upgraded the ROM as described here: http://www.samsung-omnia.org/rom-discussio...h1-to-mshj1/15/ now the GPS is enabled [at least with Google maps] and the phone seems to be a lot more stable. Thanks,
