This can be any kind of hardware or circuit, but for our purposes it shall refer to game system hardware. The inner workings of the original system are mimicked as closely as possible so that the original software can be executed by the emulator to allow it to run on a device other than what it was originally targetted for. In many ways, an emulation system is much like an operating system in that it allows you to run application software on your computer hardware. http://www.morphgear.com/files/morphgear/M...earSetupPPC.exe can somoene adapt the codingo n this to make it work on the spv? begging somoene ive tried to supply as much info as possible,
Guest crimminsky Posted January 29, 2003 Report Posted January 29, 2003 fingers crossed, heavy drooling............ ;)
Guest shadieb Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 It would be definitely worth me attempting this unlocking malarkey ;)
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Next project for spacemonkey? ;)
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 2 rite, Space Monkey will have his work cut out. Ne1 trying 2 overclock the processor - that would be sweeet !!!
Guest SirGaz Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I can imagine that all of the systems would be easily emulated, with the exception of the GBA. The SPV struggles with some of the Gameboy titles so god knows how slow it would go for a GBA game. I've got both a Gameboy and GBA and the difference is amazing, the performance of the GBA is somewhere between a SNES and an N64. Would be very nice though
Guest spacemonkey Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Looks like a cool emulator. However, 4 in 1 might be too processor heavy... also, it's closed source and they are trying to sell it. That means morphgear are the only people who will sell it. What we need to attempt porting something is an open source version for pocket pc of whatever it is. Aside from that, the demands processor wise should be within the spec of the SPV for al of them but the GBA. Here's a SNES emulator for pocketpc with source: http://paqpark.nuclearfallout.net/projects.../pocketsnes.php snes is the other borderline case... slowish processor, but higher res graphics and 16 bit cpu... don't know just how well it'd run...
Guest kingdom master Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 HERE is some source code, for a snes emulator is atleast is says it is,lol http://paqpark.nuclearfallout.net/projects.../pocketsnes.php anyone taking the challenge? ill try to get the other code.
Guest spacecowboy6982 Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Just tryed it, got nothin - must b doing sumthn wrong - will try again in a while.
Guest kingdom master Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 i think its the scr download but not sure, goodluck:-)
Guest madu Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 How about reducing screen color depth to make it run faster - remember how it was on those 95/98 machines with some games?? ;)
Guest frijj2k Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I've already looked at this emulator before. I think GBA, megadrive and snes games will not run (at a worthy speed). You have to remember that the SPV's processor (although faster than these consoles) doesnt have the custom sound and video accelerated hardware that these consoles have built into them so it all has to be emulated. And as stated earlier... even gb games can be slow. I've bin looking around for an open source mastersystem/gamegear emulator to port.... pref WinCE to begin. I havnt found any WinCE emulators for these consoles that are open source. I have found a few for dos, windows etc... Gonna be a big job... havnt started to look at code yet coz im cooking something else up atm. (What you ask? you will have to wait and see... if i get it working!) Dave
Guest midnightman Posted February 19, 2004 Report Posted February 19, 2004 would space monkey make our life complete and make this available for the spv, please, please,if i had that kind of talent/brains i'd do it myself, if he's gonna make it a beta version i believe everyone here will be the willing guniea pigs, right???? LONG LIVE SPACE MONKEY!!!!!!! OHHH I CAN'T WAIT FOR AN EMU FOR SEGA GENESIS...
