Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 For those of you who don't read danish, here's a translation of the popup than appears when you visit http://orange.dk/spv/update (popup address: http://orange.dk/spv/popup ) Dear SPV customer, You can now download the new Danish software for your SPV. The new software - version 1.33 - is an improvement over the existing software in a number of areas: * Danish-language software * Better battery life * Preconfigured MMS settings (the MMS program is still in english) * last but not least, you will see that the SPV is noticeably faster and more stable. Please be aware of the following points before you install the new software: * This update does not contain the danish characters æ, ø & å, neither has the danish T9 dictionary been implemented. * There are, unfortunately, problems with the new software: 1. You cannot edit your profiles. If you do this anyway, you may find that the SPV goes into "silent-mode" in which you won't be able to hear the telephone ring. You can of course download ringtones and so-on, but you can't edit the predefined profile. 2. If you activate the keylock and then receive an SMS it's possible that your SPV will lock up. We request that you don't use the keylock in order to avoid this problem. Obviously we're not satisfied with new software that has these problems and we're working hard to identify and rectify these bugs. In the mean time we've chosen to make the new Danish software, version 1.33, available to you as there are improvements in all other areas compared to the existing software. We expect to be able to offer the danish character set and danish T9-dictionary before mid-february. We're not yet certain how quickly we can correct the two bugs in the latest software, but we'll place any further information about this on http://orange.dk/spv Therefore: the choice is yours! * you can install the new danish software and accept the two bugs contained therein or * have patience and wait for the release of the final danish software - with these two bugs corrected. No matter which option you choose, we hope you will continue to enjoy using your SPV. So there you have it. Hope this helps you non danish-speaking types make the decision whether to install the software or not. Cheers Edit: Note that the problem with profiles (listed in [1] above) *only* occurs when the language is set to Danish; there's no problem editing profiles when any other language is used. Thanks to Keystroke for reminding me about this.
Guest GoGO Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 alle kan da snakke dansk, Danmark styrer for vildt ;)
Guest Chris b.a.r.f. Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 alle kan da snakke dansk, Danmark styrer for vildt ;) *lol* Ja, ved det godt....men der findes nogle få der ikke er helt så gode til at læse det - utroligt, men sandt
Guest Monolithix [MVP] Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 *blocks the Danish posts above...* ;) At least Orange are now admitting to the bugs within the software, as a pposed to flat denying them. I like how the phone still has no option to stop the screen from lighting up. Preupdate it lights if the keylock is on, post-update you can't lock it for risk of it hanging, so the light will still come on as it won't be locked  Nevermind eh, Orange?
Guest Lojt Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Vi burde næsten få Paul til at lave et forum til alle os danskere ;)
Guest imp Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Kan kun sige at danskere rykker lidt for vildt... Vi er i hvert fald de klogeste i hele europa! ;) //imp

Guest Chris b.a.r.f.
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Looks like I'll have to learn Danish then so I can still be a mod for you guys . I think I have an idea what you are talking about but I'm not going to embarrass myself trying to discribe what you are saying  Just incasae I'm wrong ;)
