This title is going to blow people away. The super-fluid visual effect of the game is quite a sight to see and it makes for an amazing gaming experience. The controls are fully configurable on the Smartphone and the controls were reworked specifically for the Smartphone to make the game very controllable with the gamepad (given it's 8-direction limitation) or any other configuration you dream up. I'm also happy to announce the introductory price is $5 off and priced at $9.99. Enjoy this title, there was a major effort to bring it properly to Smartphone. Also, I'd just like to comment about both Motocross Stunt Racer and Bust'em as well as future titles from Digital Concepts are properly certified titles that will install and run on all Windows Powered Smartphone (including all Orange SPVs irregardless of being an opened or closed phone). Guest Lojt Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Too slow ;) http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic.php?t=2814
Guest jpearn Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Nice . . . hope DJHope has no more exams ;) Jason.
Guest beckd Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 One more comment: 45 levels packed into a mere 2megs of storage memory.
Guest AlexP Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I've downloaded the bust-em game from the website, the first time i did it it would not extract with winzip. I downloaded it again and that time it worked but everytime i run the exe from my PC in order to install it on the phone it only gets to the point where it asks you to look at the phone screen to see if there are any more instuctions. The only instruction i see is cab installed ok and then it goes back to the home screen without finishing installing. I haven't All Explorer installed .
Guest mikey808 Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Have you got an up to date version of winzip ? it could cause a problem.. I used Winrar v3 to unzip that game..worked fine.
Guest AlexP Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I've got winzip 8.0. The second time in downloaded and extracted showing bustem-up exe and when i doubleclick on the exe it starts to install through activesync and then says finished on the pc and on the phone, but doesn't ask if me on the phone screen if i want to install it on the phone mem or card..
Guest mikey808 Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Ok try this: copy the cab file onto your spv/storage card, you don't have all-explorer so make a shortcut to the cab file and put it in ipsm/windows/start menu/games and run it from the programs menu. It'll install and put a shortcut in /games.
Guest mikey808 Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Oh sorry AlexP, ignore that last post, just realised you don't have a cab file but an executable...hmmm any ideas anyone ?
Guest SirGaz Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 I had a similar problem with the demo version of Slurp. That came as an exe but failed to install on the phone. I'd be interested to note if there is a way around this so that I can get the cab file.
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 If you run installation EXEs, you will find they extract the CAB file to your ActiveSync dir on your PC (e.g. c:program filesmicrosoft activesyncappname). You can then copy this cab to your SPV, and install that way. P
Guest Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Game looks sweet, and bustem is pretty cool as well, kudos to Douglas and Digital Concepts.
Guest SirGaz Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Cheer Paul, you ain't an MVP for nothing ;)
Guest Paul [MVP] Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 ;) You betcha! P PS OMG! Motocross Stunt Racer is AMAZING!
Guest mikey808 Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Yes nice one Paul [MVP]...The Motocross game runs lovely and smooth, I have to say I think it's great! Bust'em which I got yesterday is quite something too, (see Bust'em thread). Overall I think their both well worth having and as stickboy has already said, Douglas deserves some serious thanks not least for his patience with the grinding certification problems he's had ! :-)
Guest AlexP Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Yeah, doing it that way it has worked ok. Now try and download Motorcross Stunt Racer Thanks Everyone. ;)
Guest Pidder Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 WoW, really a great game. I'll be occupied for hours :-(
Guest Gorskar Posted January 30, 2003 Report Posted January 30, 2003 Well, today being the day that my exams are all over with I thought I'd treat myself to this fine looking game, and on first impressions I'm extremely glad I did. Runs like a dream (providing you have enough memory - I found It quit on me a few times until I freed up some more memory) Very nicely optimised to the smartphone screen with some amazing graphics Controls slightly difficult to start with, but soon get the hang of it. - a hint for the first level - when the level starts, let the other bikes go first, then take the shortcut - took me a while to get past it till I realised this trick. Very very very addictive fun, - just as well I don't have any more exams!
Guest Windy Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 So people are aware, I tried to install the game by running the executable thinking it might give me the option to install it to memory card.. Unfortunately it didn't and went straight on the phone although I didn't have enough space to install it. I've now managed to loose about 1.5mb worth of space on the phone (which left it at 0Mb) and cannot find the temporary files it might have installed! I've managed to clear a bit of space by moving my sounds etc so I can still use the phone but am running out of ideas.. I've e-mailed the company and am hoping for a response, has anyone else had a similar problem or might know what temp files it's installed?
Guest pibrahim Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Grrrrrrrr... Major problems with this game. It loads a level fine, but whenever I quit back to the menu and try a different level, or whenever it loads the level again, it quits me back to the Games subdirectory. Getting fed up with this now... Nobody else have this problem?
Guest Gorskar Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 Yes, I seem to have the same problem. It installed to the memory card fine (although took a long time to install) But I find that after you've finished one level and try to load another it tends to crash back to the desktop. Of course your progress has been saved, so you don't lose anything, but it is still an annoying bug.
Guest pibrahim Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I'm gonna ask for a refund if this bug isn't fixed. It renders the game almost unplayable, given there's 45 levels, I don't intend on restarting the game and waiting for it to load every time I fancy a different level.. I don't know how on earth this bug slipped through!
Guest awarner [MVP] Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 I downloaded this too but the filename was bizzarely long (29 characters to be precise) and the file won't open. What was your .zip filename? You must have had a funny download session as you have written the same comment for bustem as well. Very strange
Guest SirGaz Posted January 31, 2003 Report Posted January 31, 2003 goulios Same post as that against the Bust-em topic. http://www.modaco.com/viewtopic...t=2741&start=15 Either you're really unlucky in downloading files or Keystroke is right
