This is a topic for my method so i was kind to give you help anyway considering your problem wasnt cause by my method jus read the instructions and try to update. YOU HAVENT EVEN TRIED YET. B) :( today my phone can connect to Grand prix but got some error. here the detail: Device name: EBoot version=01.37 Start downloading... PDA-Starting updating EBOOT... PDA-Downloading EBOOT... I get this error too on vista, is there anything bad that comes off this? or lost features? i can turn my phone on, make and receive phone calls too. but im still worried that something could be wrong. I use xp and after I downloaded granprix 1.8.1 (xp), ran i900 executor to get files from official updater, added them to the grandprix and flashed, I now have my omnia back to original spec. Someone suggested that I update using the Samsung official update but I get the "your device already has the latest firmware" message. I'm trying to update to DXIA5. I did exactly what you instructed in the first post Installed the i780 drivers and everything. Others are reporting that they weren't able to update their Phone version, only the PDA version, however, it seems like I'm the only one getting the already latest firmware message. However it is important to download and install the samsung drivers anyway you can. The final solution that worked for me was to install VMware and then XP sp on my vista. Others were able to update the phone part by just using the regular samsung updater. ok well some can get the phone part to update but updating that is not necessary anyway from what i can see. you get all the stuff on your new rom, i mean everything so just leave the phone part blank and it will be ok. Calculating file parameters(DISKIMAGE) Done!! OnDeviceChange: DBT_DEVICEARRIVAL PDA Device not found. I've tried re-installing all the software, I've updated the drivers... i do have 'allow usb connections' checked in WMDC .. my pc is telling me my phone i sconnected but for some reason Grandprix can tpick it up.. any suggestions?? should 'allow data connections on device when connected to pc' box be checked or unchecked in Win Mob Dev Center? Guest dgar1 Posted April 4, 2009 Report Share Posted April 4, 2009 (edited) ok for some strange reason grandprix decided to finally detect my phone now.. but this has led me to a another problem and a major one at that.. it wont load past the opening Samsung Omnia skin and i'm unable to connect to my pc at all anymore.. power button wont work and the only way to reset is via the reset button or removing the battery.. its basically frozen B) :( pls someone help me out here!!!! what can i do to fix it?? ps. grandprix cant detect the phone either. B) IN DEVICE MANAGER YOUR PHONE WILL BE IN THE NETWORK ADAPTER TAB AND WILL BE CALLED WINDOWS MOBILE REMOTE ADAPTER! IF ON THE LAST STEP IT SAYS JUMP FAILED DONT WORRY...IT IS DONE JUST TURN ON YOUR DEVICE AND IT WILL BOOT I HAVE TESTED THIS METHOD, I USE THIS METHOD! TELL ME IF YOU MANAGE TO UPDATE USING THIS METHOD PLEASE! other than the official samsung website there was no way to update the omnia by vista but now there is a solution. just download all the attached files (virus free... according to bit defender <- best anti virus i think?) then follow the instructions. 1. study the i780 vista usb installation instructions. 2. update your phones driver by using these instructions and by appling the driver software given in the vistaRUU folder. use the "wceusbsh.sys" file.in device manager your device is in the network adapter tab and is called " windows mobile remote adapter" (normally) 4. download any omnia rom update (ANY) 5. open i900 EXEcutor and click the dissasmble tab 6. press the button with 3 dots and find the rom updater file you downloaded. 7. click "go" and make a note of the output file. 8. once you have dissasembled the rom, the rom would have been split into individual components that are stored in the file you made note of. 9. open up grand prix and enter the parts into the loaders as shown below\/ LOADER - eboot PDA - pda CSC - customer.csc (or leave blank as nothing has to be put there) MULTILANG - LEAVE THIS PART BLANK!!! PUT NOTHING IN THERE PHONE - phone (or leave blank as it does not have to be updated) phone may boot with a picture of a phone and ! but if you wait for 5 seconds it will then boot properly FIXED JUST LEAVE THE PHONE AND CSC PART BLANK. hope this helps... ask questions if needed. also this is at your own risk (but it 100% worked for me) where to find those files for XP?
