Guest meabigbaldguy Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 Strange that you guys can use your PC's internet with Omnia via USB. When I connect with Internet Sharing, the only connection option that I have is my service provider's GPRS WAP, which only allows me to use the phone's internet on the PC. I'd like to be able to do it the other way around, too! It's no big deal, but if someone knows how or why, then that'd be great!
Guest pinyon Posted January 30, 2009 Report Posted January 30, 2009 I think we're talking about two things here. When connected via USB and activesync then you can access the internet on your Omnia using your PC/Laptop's internet connection. When you use ICS and either USB or a wireless connection (using other software), your PC/Laptop can get internet access using your Omnia's broadband connection.

I've tried but cannot get it to work, not even with internet sharing. Maybe I'm missing something.

Guest meabigbaldguy Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 i cannot connect to the internet in my omnia i900 phone via usb? how can i do it? Tnx. Make sure that your USB settings are set to Active Sync and not mass storage. Then make sure that the USB to PC settings has the Advanced Network Functionality disabled (though this doesn't seem to matter with the newer ROMs or at least the custom ones). Exactly like it's mentioned in this thread!

Guest camz Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 I just plug and play and I can surf the web via USB ActiveSync. Just make sure the arrow thingy on top (arrow left and arrow right beside the signal area <-- on top and -->bottom thing) is there. As I observed it, if the icon is not there, I cannot browse the web using the USB connection.
Guest MAYORLIM Posted July 20, 2009 Report Posted July 20, 2009 Thanks for sharing guys, worked like a charm! ;)

Guest barbs666 Posted August 16, 2009 Report Posted August 16, 2009 (edited) Yeah I agree, I cannot get mine to work and am totally peeved off about it. I am on Vodafone, I am using Tarils DXIA5 rom. have activesync 4.5. doesnt seem to work....... bugger..... any step by step instructions or screen shots of setting guys? Ok EDIT: easy fix: go to programs -> internet sharing and connect to your current mobile provider data plan (which should be in the option already) and with ur mobile connected via usb it will surf the net! if you want more detail and how to use Bluetooth then read this! http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/forum-repli...fm/1044918.html Edited August 16, 2009 by barbs666
