Guest lpsquall Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) I was wondering if it were possible to change the mapping of the people widget...It's best explained when you view the pictures. What I want to do is the following: Take a look at picture 2 to see the people widget...When I click on the contact, it opens the view in picture 1. I was wondering if its possible to re-map the link to open in the view of picture 3? The view in picture 3 can be found if you open your phone book and click on a contact. Guest TheDrizzle Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 I actually would like to to do this also! There is a program called "SSMaPa" I think can do this. It can be found in the zip file in the second post of this thread: http://www.modaco.com/content/i9x0-omnia-h...manila2d-theme/ (in the alarm fix rar file). However, it is not the most user friendly program. You need to know the exact path of the exe to replace in M2D. I was trying to replace the clock function with the samsung tclock.exe but haven't got it to work yet. I need to mess with it somemore. But if you can find the exact exe to that contact program (and I guess you have to pass an argument or something as to which contact to display) SSMaPa should eb able to change M2D. Maybe someone else with more experiance using that program can chime in and give us some direction. Good luck.
Guest vishalm Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Samsung clock is \windows\tclock.exe Samsung Phonebook is I think \windows\SecContact.exe, there is also SecPlusContact.exe Report back if it works Vishal
Guest TheDrizzle Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 (edited) I'm having some trouble with the SSMaPa.exe program... I wish there was some documentation. For example, at the bottom, where it says "new program" is that supposed to be the fully qualified path of the new exe? Or just the of name .exe file itself? And is "working dir" the rest of the path? Or leave that blank as well? And should it contain a trailing "\"? For example, to change the clock, I'm assuming the option I need to select is "Time Click Man2". So at the bottom, should new program be "tclock.exe" or \windows\tclock.exe? and what should be in the "workding dir" field? Nothing? "\windows\"? Anyway, tried a few different things and I keep getting an "Error during deploy" -> "Unauthorized Access Exception". Not even sure if I'm doing this correctly. It also seems like not all options are there. I.e. I don't see anything to change the contact shortcut, just calendar, time, opera, camera Any help appreciated.... Guest lpsquall Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 Thanks for all the posts so far everyone. I tried using the SSMaPa.exe tool but no success. Hopefully, someone can figure it out and write a guide about it. Any other ideas?
Guest TheDrizzle Posted February 1, 2009 Report Posted February 1, 2009 There is a newer version of the SSMaPa.exe on xda-forums (see this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=407777) and there is a bit more information in the thread about how it works. I guess the unauthorized exception can be solved by doing an "extended init" when the app first starts. And I guess you don't need to fully qualify the path if the .exe is in the shell path (so if it is in /windows it should work with just the exe name). Anyway, so I tried this with the clock/alarm shortcut and it sort of worked. I opened up SSMaPa, did the exented init, selected the "Time Click M2d" , selected "Patch Enabaled", put "tclock.exe" in the new program field, changed to the deploy tab, and selected "deploy patch". It gave me a warning about the exe being signed, I told it to try and un-sign it, and clicked ok. At this it gave me a couple warnings about some exes being from an unknown publisher. I hit ok twice then my omnia hung. I left it for like 20 minutes before I forced a soft reboot. When it came back up, tf2d loaded and selecting clock did bring up tclock.exe! BUT somehow all of the menu shortcuts got blown away (i.e anything accessed at the bottom... "All contact" , "All Settings" etc...) so I reopened SSMaPa and did a restore and everything went back to normal. So I almost got it, but I messed something up somehow... or maybe its not compatabile with the i910, but if anyone else has any luck let me know.

I've tried SSMAPA twice on my I910 and after trying to do a full restore through the program, it completely messed up my Manila 2D and wasn't able to launch anymore. Bad idea, if you ask me, so I would stay away.

Your only option is to use an application by the name of VJBrisk, which just replaces the exe with a link to another exe you want to call. In effect, every time the normal contact list is called it will instead call the application you specify. Try a Google search for the program, since I'm unfortunately at work and don't have the link here.

Yea, VJBrisk is nice but it won't work when you're trying to replace programs that are cooked into the ROM (i.e. calendar.exe and tmail.exe). EDIT Nevermind. You can overwrite the file that's in the ROM, but make sure to backup everything using a program like Resco backup (saved me a few times). Edited March 17, 2009 by integrate
Guest TheDrizzle Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 A new rewrite of SSMaPA called SSMaHo was released this week that works!!! I used it on my i910 and was able to remap the clock to tclock.exe, without losing my shortcuts softkeys. It is not the most, eh, "user friendly" interface, but it does work. See the following thread @ xda: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=493810 I'm going to try to remap the concacts when I get home....

Just wish SSMaHo would be able to link *.lnk files.
Guest TheDrizzle Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 Yep. Works for me too. Just wish SSMaHo would be able to link *.lnk files. Could you get the contacts to be re-mapped like the thread started wanted? I could not figure out how to do it.... I'm not sure if its SecContact.exe or OpenContact.exe that opens that specific contact screen and I don't know what arguments to pass and if manilla would pass the right ones. When I click on a conact using the SSMaHo tool, it says something like HTCContPnl.exe (or something like that) is what is being opened from that so its not even directly opening the windows mobile "contacts" exe. Either way at least we know that we are able to remap M2D shortcuts on our Omnias.

The arguments/command lines should be listed in the assigner next to "Original CommandLine:", however, these command lines may be specific to their specific programs, so I'm not sure if the command lines are universal. In terms of using seccontact or opencontact...I'm not sure, but I haven't tried either. I use Resco Contact Manager and am currently trying to link the contacts to RCM. EDIT: I haven't been able to link the specific contact/person from the Manila people's widget to their specific page on Resco. Edited March 19, 2009 by integrate
