some help with firmware upgrade?

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hi everyone, I'm from Singapore and currently my omnia firmware is: PDA: i900DXHH3/DZHH3, PHONE: i900DXHH3.

The official firmware listed at the Samsung website for Singapore is DZHK3. I'm wondering if i should be upgrading to this version?

I noticed from some other threads that people recommended selecting the Philippines as country to get DXHK3. Why is this so?

Finally, can someone tell me if by updating my firmware, will all my text messages be removed? along with my outlook contacts, "My Documents" files (such as ringtones) etc.?

Thanks in advance, sorry if i asked silly questions but i'm still very new to PDA phones.

1. You can update your phone using the DZHK3 without any problem. I would suggest you to upgrade because of better battery life and stability.

2. DX is the rom version that everyone uses to cook, i'm not a rom chef, so I can't really explain this.

3. Updating will remove all your contacts, sms and my documents files. Everything will be formatted except My Storage and Storage Card. I recommend using Jeyo mobile to make a backup.
