Guest pdes Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 I know others struggle with this so could someone in the know please provide a simple guide? My main memory is almost full. I have never installed a program into main memory, I have always used My Storage. I have used Memmaid to divert mails and attachments away from the main storage. I have run a Memmaid clean. Memmaid says that this is what's in the phone, excluding mystorage and the storage card: Windows 233 My Docs 6.34 Prog Files 6.24 Application Data 4.29 Docs and Settings 1.87 WWP 1.2 TomTom 0.132 eBooks 0.008 Files 4.8 I presume that "Windows" isn't part of the main storage area which means that I can only identify 18.5 Mb. So where is the rest of the 90 Mb? What can I clear out to restore the memory to an acceptable level? Thanks
Guest Nodens Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Check \Application Data\Volatile when you run out of memory. A problematic application that's leaking memory can start building a temporary file that's constantly increasing in size ad infinitum (or until you run out of memory). Whatever is in that directory can be safely deleted and the directory will be cleared upon the xda's reboot. I also suggest installing and running a task manager. From there you can exactly how much ram is allocated to each running process.
