Guest phantomguy1 Posted February 3, 2009 Report Posted February 3, 2009 Does anybody know of a place to find files for replacing the startup/shutdown animated gifs to get rid of the standard file? Any help would be much appreciated. Or post your files here if you have any
Guest Kroutnuk Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 It's located in your Windows directory
Guest phantomguy1 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 It's located in your Windows directory Im not looking for where its located.... Im looking for sites as to where I can get different ones. Or maybe if people have others they want to share.
Guest Yunabeco Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 I've been trying to make some, but to no avail. I put empty ones in the meantime, this effectively gets rid of the animation. Oh, and I made this welcome picture, too. Don't mind the white square, shouldn't be displayed anyway. Background taken from interfacelift.
Guest Carlos0371 Posted February 4, 2009 Report Posted February 4, 2009 (edited) I use the Family Guy one below on mine. Credit to the artist for the "Elf" type Warrior - sorry whoever you are, can't remember where I got it. Don't forget to change the startup sounds as well :) Carlos. See thread HERE NOTE: On Vodafone Omnias, the startup gif is "startup_VODA.gif", and the Shutdown one is "shutdown_VODA.gif". Contact me if any further help required. Oodles of images HERE (Registration NOT required, just find the image you want, rate it out of 5 stars, then you can click the "Download to PC" link). And PERSONALISED gifs HERE You can also use any of the 240x320 as well, just use any gif resizer - you can even remove the "RedDodo" branding from the bottom of the gifs. Carlos. Guest Omnian Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 (edited) Hi there, thanks for the fantastic thread. This is how I created my custom animated GIF. select 5 static filesresize them all to 240 X 400 via irfanview (image editor from http://www.irfanview.com) or some other image editorgo to http://www.lunapic.comupload 1 photo (click to add more files for animation didn't work for me)after loading the first photo, you'll get the text "You may now Scale, Crop, Add Text, Animation or Effects. " Click on Animationchoose slideshow animation (the first of the many options)you'll see a screen to upload 9 imagesI uploaded the 4 other filesyou can click from the dropdown menu Animation>edit animation settings to change the order of animation. (drag and drop)click save and download to save it to your PCtransfer the files with names Ani_Poweron.gif and/or Ani_Poweroff.gif to your storageuse Gsfinder (PPC software) to copy from storage to c:\windowsNote I don't believe there is a way to recover the old animation files unless you hard reset. Of course you can get the original animation files and move it back to c:\windows hope this works for you. Edited February 7, 2009 by Omnian
