what's wrong with Omnia's background function

So I have this great wallpaper I want to use for my Omnia but it's dimensions didn't match so I spent like an hour searching and converting it to a 240x400.

After that, I set it as my wallpaper using the Theme option (for some reason, the Today can't find it), I set it and finally it fits perfectly (http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q268/reubensing/PraiseHimWithStrings.jpg) <--this is not the 240x400 one, it's just a sample picture so you can see why it'd be important that it fits perfectly otherwise the words won't show.

Then I turn it over to landscape and whada i get? Instead of a resize of 400x240, i get a tiled picture where there are 2 pictures clashing instead of one nice 400x240 picture. Can anyone tell me how to get a centered picture instead of a tiled one?

I have a similar problem. I have tried several background images, some independant and some as part of a theme and all are the correct resolution. When they are set as the background they look fine, but then after a while they seem to tile. The image moves up on the screen (portrait, left in landscape) and then shows the top of the image at the bottom (or right in LS).

Anyone else have this, or is my Omnia unique?

I previously also got this problem but I manage to solve it

Here's the instruction as it works for me.

1.Convert your image to BMP format and must in the exact resolution for 240x400 and 400x240 respectively.

2.The result for your converted image in BMP must in exact 187.56kB (192066 bytes)

3.Rename both the image to stwater_240_400.bmp and stwater_400_240.bmp respectively.

4.Delete both of the similar files in your windows folder. If cannot be deleted just rename them to anything.

5.Paste your images in there and reset your device.

The BMP must in colour depth:16bit

72 dpi

RGB 5:6:5

If can't get the exact size that I stated or different by the size for a byte I can't ensure that'll work but you can try.

I used Image Converter Plus to convert my image and get that size.

Hope this helps.
