Guest Stevenh Posted February 5, 2009 Report Posted February 5, 2009 Hi, when running some applications, the phone will occassionally connect via GPRS to download data. When I'm at home this is pointless since I have WiFi. However I don't want to have the WiFi turned on constantly wasting battery so is it possible to have the phone automatically try WiFi first then if it fails connect via GPRS? Thanks Steven

Thanks Steven Imagine your on a laptop. When you turn off your wifi and you open your browser it will say that you don't have any connections. The wifi card is a piece of hardware and as far as I know, when it's turned off, your omnia can't turn it on on it's own. So yes, you do need to have wifi turned on when you want to connect to it.
