Just install the XP modem driver and restart the installer.

BTW that 'new' ROM is pretty darn old, it's JCHJ3...

I guess the modem driver installed silently with the installer, but it is a known problem that it does not do it in time. I crapped myself the when it happened to me as well :)

I installed the firmware JCHJ3

its much better than the stupid vodacrap i had on before.

One problem tho, i see in any website, in password fields, i cant select text using the phonepad keyboard.

Are you doing the update on a Vista machine? The ROM flashing process will only work successfully on XP machines as far as I know.

This has happened to me once, but only the first time I flashed the phone. I think the error is a timing issue with the computer setting up the USB port. Am not sure of the detail you are doing but a couple of pointers check:

- I believe you only need to install the Samsung Modem Driver once (this is what I have done and have re-flashed the phone several times) - not each time you flash the phone!

- Use the same USB port all the time for connections with your phone - this also solves problems you may get with Active Sync
