Guest TheDrizzle Posted February 6, 2009 Report Posted February 6, 2009 Interesting... wonder if this will come with the Vzw GPS unlock for us i910 users...
Guest aridoasis Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 pretty cool stuff. hope this comes as an upgrade too.
Guest efjay Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Great, rather than Samsung fix issues like camera not saving settings or BT voice dialling not working they release a version with a new paint job and useless addon software which will probably reduce the available storage to about 5MB?!? And not even an update to WM 6.1.4 with PIE6? What a complete waste of time, Samsung is not really doing anything worthwhile here IMO.

Guest efjay Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 camera is saving the settings... which rom r u using? I am using the IA2 rom. Try changing the Contrast, Saturation and Sharpness settings, close the camera and go back in, the setings are back at 0. The GSM version is closing fast on its 1st anniversary and these issues are still not addressed.
Guest Chugworth Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) Cool! Most likely these improvements will come with the Verizon GPS fix. In fact, this might be what they have been waiting for, and could possibly mean that the update is close to release. I do hope that Samsung continues to improve and update the Omnia's software, and not just forget about the device. Edited February 9, 2009 by Chugworth
Guest Luci Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 touchscreen looks good ! But screen, is that still 240x400 ?

The i900 has several updates and even the iPhone is getting another update (though the features they are adding should have been available from the beginning). The Omnia is by all accounts selling well. Very well. I have no idea why it is taking so long for them to at least hint at a firmware update for the i910. Samsung is making a whole lot of phones and not giving the support or attention necessary to what they are creating.
Guest Massive Attack Posted March 19, 2009 Report Posted March 19, 2009 im curious about the SecurityRed software, maybe someone from italy can extract this from their omnia reload and create a cab and upload here?
Guest ciscokidinsf Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 Besides the white color, and 'new' widgets added in the desktop side bar, I don't see ANYTHING new at all. The media player needs some desperate help.
Guest dwallersv Posted March 22, 2009 Report Posted March 22, 2009 Yeah, can't get excited about this. Nothing there I would use or care about. The S/W additions all look like accomodation for their network partners, or enterprise users (actually, Enterprise IT, not the users). The new software is primarily a means to squeeze more money out of users by the wireless operators, or implement tighter control over employees with these phones. Now, they could have done some things that would have widely benefited all users and have had significant value to them (but would not generate any $$). Like fixing that camera issue; the BT voicedialing problem (already fixed in the 910 -- why not port it over to the 900?); enhance the audio driver so SRS and R2VS work, and include them; license and include some of the totally awesome stuff from the community -- S2U2, Rotation Service, and so much more. The bottom line is that Green is King... anything that boosts sales and $$ takes priority. Customer satisfaction is only paid attention to when it starts to impact priority #1.
