Guest Cry0g3n1c Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Okay, brand new omnia vzw i910.... The issue is I consistently get three bars evdo in my house but when I get a call it switched to 1xrtt, in which i get about three or four bars.... I don't even need to pick up the call, the minute the phone rings it switches..... Very odd.... Am I missing something? Oh yea, and how do I enable wireless G? I dl'ed a cab from ppc geeks that is supposed to switch from b to g, but I would like to verify it worked... Thanks ahead of time!!!
Guest dwallersv Posted February 7, 2009 Report Posted February 7, 2009 Yes, you're missing something. EVDO is data-only. The protocol does not support simultaneous voice and data, like HSDPA does on GSM. So, when you get a call, the phone goes to 1xRTT protocol.

I guess the confusion spawned from my other vzw phones not switching the indicator during call use.....

This sort of technical detail is only something unrepentant technogeeks like myself pay any attention to. Guess you're one of us now... :D :) :)
