There seems to be two ways to set alarms on the Omnia. The first is to go to:

Start > Programs > Alarms

This brings up five selections, Wake-up alarm, Alarm 1, Alarm 2, .... Alarm 4.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Or, I can do:

Start > Settings > (System Tab) > Clock and Alarms

This brings up three different Alarms, which can be renamed.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I've installed SPB Mobile Shell. That seems to work fine if I set an Alarm the first way, but not when I set an alarm the second way. If the phone is "asleep", the Alarm only works if it's set the first way. Otherwise it makes a short sound, then stops, rather than waiting for me to hit one of the two buttons, "off" or "snooze". From withing the SPB Mobile Shell, I can go to Programs > Alarms and it's just like setting things the first way I described above.

Is this because of the firmware I'm using ( i900DXHF8/DXHF8 ), or are all Omnias like this?

One is WM, and other from Samsung,.

I guess that makes sense, but you'd think that Samsung would have just improved the one from WM. Do you know which is which?

Do we (the users) have the ability to control which alarm function shows up when we click on one of the controls, or is that burnt in and permanent? I guess that probably explains my similar question as to why there are several listings for "Contacts".

why is it that when i dismiss the currently off alarm it deletes it on my alarm list instead of just turning it off? :( the only way for me to turn off the alarm without deleting it is to go to the clock setting and manually turning it off. coz' when i press dismiss while its alarming it erases the alarm setup
