Guest Stevenh Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Is there an emulator available for testing newly built ROM images to check if it all behaves and how much memory/storage it is all using? Thanks Steven
Guest shokka9 Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 (edited) google WM emulator, it takes you to microsoft to download it. I have it, but not used yet, i know a few peeps use it, so it works. Just remember, that not everything that works in the emu, doesnt always work in the Omnia. As sector says, if you do not know how to use it, then you will have difficulty getting what you need out of it. It will be quicker and easier to to flash your Omnia, thats what i do. Trial and error, you cant beat it. good luck Edited February 9, 2009 by shokka9
Guest Stevenh Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 Thanks. At the moment I'm just experimenting with cooking my ROMs and want to find out how much storage/memory my ROM is going to take up with having to flash it first....
Guest sector Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 You cannot flash the emulator. You need to create a PPC_USA_GSM_240x400.BIN according to the firmware and Omnia version. It needs a lot of work to implement the drivers etc etc.
Guest Stevenh Posted February 9, 2009 Report Posted February 9, 2009 ok, i guess the emulator is only useful for testing out applications only... won't be doing that atm...
