Got a VGA/WVGA enabled WM device knocking about? Then why not have a play with the ever so eagerly awaited Firefox Mobile (codenamed Fennec)!

I'm not gonna bore you with the details, you know what this is and as it's still in it's very early stages, you know what to expect.

What are you waiting for? Download Fennec version 0.11 now!! :(

Basically unusable people. I installed on my Touch Pro and I can't get it to do much of anything. It's not even pre-alpha IMO it straight up doesnt work.

Potentially (if it worked) what does this offer over the excellent Opera that's built into my Touch HD?

Wow.....I had to remove it from my phone. It loaded once successfully but I couldn't get it to do anything. Completely slowed down my phone (diamond). A pity. I always expect cool browsers from firefox.

I loaded it on my tilt and it worked just fine. though it did crash adventualy, I was able to browse over to google look up some stuff before it crashed. there was no way, that I could see to zoom in and out but I was able to scroll orund the pge without problem. its slow and clunky but its pre alpha more lik prof of concept, lots of code bugs that make it slow but its from the firefox team so whens it ready it should b cool.

Worked fine on mine mono? That's where the screeny is from :(

...and yeah, it's slow and crappy at the moment...BUT IT'S PROGRESS PEOPLE!!!

Imagine Firefox on your phone, all the extensions/themes etc, will be awesome!

I tried it too!

Very slow in loading!!

When I spotted that the address bar was just off the top of my Touch HD screen I could scroll it down,

But then no keyboard meant that I couldn't browse anywhere!

All I got was the 'checkerboard' background on the screen.

I tried a re-install, and found that second time around it told me that the software was meant for an older version of windows. I'm sure it didn't say that first time I installed it, but it was very early this morning.

I wonder how soon before we se a WM6.1 version.

BTW: This is the first time I've posted in ages, and the forum interface looks really great!

loaded. ran.... waited... watched black and white grid appear.... eventually managed to type something in the address bar, it appeared to try and load... nothing happened... uninstalled....

I don't think we'll get any form of extensions, and if we do they'll need to be newly written/designed specifically for the Mobile Version

That said, I think Adblock+ would be a essential for PDA's. Especially considering we have Flash (Some Flash Adverts eat alot of CPU)

I've posted to the news forum but thought I'd update here while its waiting for approval, the first Alpha is now available for download! More information here. I've managed to get it running on my Diamond 2 and its a big improvement on the 0.11 pre-Alpha. You can start to see the whole thing coming together at last. Beginning of support or add-on etc. Still buggy and slow as hell, but very much improved.
