That's one problem of the Windows Mobile 6, and earlier versions, the memory of the Omnia is too low.

I've used a hard reset, works aswell :(

u could visit the ROM's section. Custom roms get rid of majority of unwanted software which really leaves u with plenty of storage space on the device.

I dont wan to harm my Omnia with the custom rom.. i tot there's a software where it can remove all the unwanted software?

no there's not.

flashing a custom rom is the only possibility to remove unnecessary software and to size up ur storage capacity on ur device.

if u follow the instructions on-screen ur omnia would never get harmed in any way.

i think most of us can guarantee that flashing ur device is not as dangerous as it might seem at first

so just go for it !

On your Omnia, go to My Device\Programs\VZappzone\Temp\Temp....Or something close to that. ( I deleted mine since I don't use it.)

Delete the files in the temp folder. For some reason some Omnias are getting up to three of these files a day. People have reported gaining up to 30MB of space after deleting these. This should solve your problem. If you don't use Appzone. Delete the entire folder.

Edit: BTW, if you don't have an i910 from VZW of course this won't work.

I had a similar problem, and have not tried flashing the rom yet.

A couple of things I would try first:

  • Look for the solution in this forum to move the location of temporary internet files to the memory card
Try the program: Memaid - that does quite a good job of saving memory
Finally - hard reset the device (only clearing the devioce, not the memory cards) and re-install only the applications you really need

I hope that helps a little

I personally would see what application/programs I have installed in \Program Files\ and move some of them to My Storage or reinstall them in My Storage or even your Storage Card. I would not try a new ROM unless you really know what you are doing.

You can use File Explorer or  Total Command to check this.

You can use ClearTemp to clear out some memory. It is free and I have attached a copy of it for you. If you have any questions, just ask.

Bricked phone? :(

Don't flash unless you see clear reason for it.

Agree with you on that one, too amny people flash the devices without really knowing what they are doing or why.

Generally battery issues are the main reason which can be justified.

True there are many ROMs out there, and 98% of the stuff that's at least on this forum are not bad. My advice though is stay away from anything called beta or test. Updating to a ROM is not so difficult, but determining the proper method of download can be. There are two important things that you need to know.

First, do you have an I910 or an I900? There is a difference because if you have an I910, then you won't be able to use most of the ROMs in this forum. The I910's are sold exclusively in the USA through Verizon Wireless.

Second, is your PC or laptop running on XP or Vista? This also makes a difference in how the updates are carried out. If you have Vista, then read through the forum for instructions. If you are running XP, then you need to install the Samsung Modem Updater before you can flash the new ROM. If you don't already have it, then I have included it below. For complete updating instructions, go to Samsung's Omnia page and click on the "Upgrade Your Omnia" link. There you can also upgrade to a factory ROM; however, I believe that in doing so, you'll probably not resolve your memory issue.

I have two programs - memmaid and sktools - that are indispensable in helping on this problem. With them you can find out exactly whats happening with your memory and you can fix it. They let you find and move or delete big files that are robbing you of memory.

Try them, you'll like them.
