Guest maf107ezk0 Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 Hello, today I came across a .mkv file (x264) and tried to play it on my omnia. It just kept telling me the: "We`re sorry..." error. I`m using 0.72RC1 as it is the only one working with the subtitle plugin.I try to install some plugins for the TCPMP but when I start the program after that there is an error in the program. So I was wondering if you could either give me a plugin/a working version of TCPMP or suggest me another video player with subtitle plugin (but I don`t think there are any other) :( Thanks in advance B)
Guest Persia Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 well only tcpmp is for subtitles and i don't like the pixel quality of that coreplayer is very better and omnia is the best phone media player in the world till now! both of them can't play very good mkv files and play in slow sometimes but sounds said the next version of coreplayer will improve the problems and with subtitle plugins

Well for now I`m staying with TCPMP. Can you please tell me when to expect the new coreplayer (i hope it`s Q2). Oh, and another thing - when using coreplayer and try to open a mkv file it tells me that the codec is not installed but not only for that... Also for the AC-3 the AAC etc.
Guest dwallersv Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 The latest version of CorePlayer is 1.3, and it is massively improved over 1.2.5. I was a TCPMP fan for years, even having purchased coreplayer when it first came out, but 1.3 has finally made CP far superior to TCPMP or any other player available. It plays MKV as well as just about any other container without any framedrops or other problems on the Omnia Supports pretty much all video and audio codecs.

Guest dwallersv Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Well, can you give me a download link for the 1.3 because all I could find was 1.2.5 :( It ain't free... pays youse thirty washingtons here and youse'll have a link! IMO, it's worth every penny.
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Yeah but I want a trial or something like that - is it that better than 1.2.5 and if yes with what :(

Guest dwallersv Posted February 14, 2009 Report Posted February 14, 2009 (edited) hello can anyone provide me with a PM or link as to where i can download the Core Player free version? need not be the latest one...just need it to be free... First, I have no affiliation with CoreCodec... just a satisfied customer. I don't think there is a trial version of v1.3. You can look around on their site and see if you can find a trial -- go to www.coreplayer.com. If there is a free trial version of earlier releases, like 1.2.5, I would strongly recommend against bothering -- you'll be convinced it's one of the biggest POS software out there. CorePlayer was the commercial version of TCPMP, a great free player, and the corecodec team really screwed up with the first few releases. I bought way back at 1.1 or something, and was so pissed off by it's long hangs of unresponsiveness, removed equalizer (TCPMP has a nice one), and many other bugs and problems that I almost asked for my money back. Instead, I kept using TCPMP on my Treo750 for the past year or so while they worked on CP. As of 1.3, just about everything that screwed it up has been fixed. Plus, a lot of new features were added that work well. Among other things, has really nice YouTube integration. So if you can find a free trial of 1.3, by all means go for it! However, don't judge the current release by a free trial of a past version -- completely different experiences. Edited February 14, 2009 by dwallersv
Guest maxxxp Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 I have tcpmp 0.72RC1 and the core player 1.3 and i find that tcpmp is faster than core player with the same, identical settings, for example with tcpmp i can see without frame lost a divx with a bitrate of 1400kbs and 640x480 resolution, instead core player losts a lot of frames!
Guest cobrica Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 TCPMP support subtittles and core player not!
Guest Tulius Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 TCPMP support subtittles and core player not! Don't we have a plug in supporting Subtitles in Core PLayer? I have 1.25.
