Guest smoothcrooner Posted February 11, 2009 Report Posted February 11, 2009 I'm on the Orange unbranded MSHJ1 ROM and I'm trying to update the Google maps in the Google Launcher that comes with the ROM. Everytime I download the latested version of Google maps, the one with StreetView, there seem be a conflict with the old version. Instead of the latest version overwriting the previous version, I somehow still get the two versions on my Omnia and this is where the conflict occurs. I just can't get the lastest version to work at all, it just freezes up. Can anyone please suggest a solution to this problem.

I installed it and it appears that I cannot type in the search without activating the XT9. Therefore, I couldn't search by post code. regarding your problem, I think that the official rom will not allow you to update to any other version of gmaps unless there is an official rom update (not very possible)

Come to think of it, I think you might be right about not being able to update the gmaps without an official ROM update, well, I shall keep on waiting.
