Guest drdownload Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 (edited) I'm quite happy with my unlocked i617 with wm 6.1, however some open questions remain. 1) I cant change the user agent following the usual proceedings for wm 6.1. Doent matter what I do, but the following string is always embedded in the user agent string: "(compatible;MSIE 6.0;Windows CE; IEMobile 7.11)". 2) best task man coudnt be configured to be used with the home button (ok more a best task man thing) 3) all the nice today screen alternatives like mobile shell dont work because its wm6 standard. any good alternatives out there? 4) today screen not very customizable with the wm6.1 sliding panels. 5) can I configure pocket outlook to only pull messages within the usual business hours 6) cant manage to add a clock to the titlebar, or a more detailed battery meter. 7) it would be also usefull to have more detailed network info at the homescreen. eg. if im on 2g or 3g, if my dataconnection is plain grps or edge / umts or hsdpa. if I'm roaming. to be continued. I would really like to know how to change that my self. I went through the registry looking for every string about User agent strings and still can't find a way to change it.
Guest Nottach Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 (edited) 1. Dont know 2, 3, 4, & 6. All can be solved with smarttoolkit. ive been running it and it beats the pants of the regular start menu. just make sure its RC08. Others crash the BJ2. 5 & 7. Dont know attached RC08 STK be sure to explore the task bar gadgets in stk, way faster than either the regular start menu or stk menu. and the google gadget is useful. why would one want to change the "user agent"? just curious.SmartToolkit_SP_RC08.CAB Edited February 14, 2009 by Nottach

Guest Nottach Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 ive totally given up on the GPS in the BJ2. its the worst. i find that after a hard reset it will work for a while then it just stops. i dont use any activator or hack to get it to work initially. google and live can find it at first then neither. ive gotten used to using googles 'my location' and 'directions'.

It must be your phone Nottach, which would suck...but it must be! I have two BJIIs and the GPS works beautifully and consistently on both. In fact, other than the occasional "why is it taking so dang long to get satellites" I've never had a problem with it.
Guest Nottach Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 i havent been able to get a fix since two days after my last hard reset. i have a long drive today, ill let it 'look' the whole way.
