Guest Zohare Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 I have big problem with the touch accuracy in part of the screen. I tried to install new ROM but this is not a software issue. Probably the screen was damaged while the phone fell. I can see it when I test the screen - on the right side there is a gap of almost 1 centimeter between the point I touch and the point as extrapolated by the phone. Now, my question is - do you think a new Screen or digitizer (like these in the links) is what I need to solve it? http://cgi.ebay.com/New-LCD-Screen-Replace...bayphotohosting http://cnn.cn/shop/samaung-i900-digitizer-p-4052.html Thanks
Guest maf107ezk0 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Hi, try this: 1. Open your Registry Editor(PHM Registry Editor) 2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/ 3. Click on CalibrationData 4. Value Data change to > 519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872 5. Click OK to save it. This calibrates the screen perfectly - maybe this will help :(
Guest irvinedo Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 thanks maf107ezk0 these values work perfectly for me
Guest Zohare Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Thanks but as I said, this is not a matter of settings or alignment. I am sure I have hardware fault. I tried this setting but nothing happened. The question is what hardware part do I need in order to fix it. Thx
Guest Bcwave Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 I have the exactly same problem. please help.
Guest Zohare Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Hello, I bought a new digitizer in Ebay. Then, I had to take apart the Omnia and replace the digitizer. look at this thread for manuals how to do it. It is risky but it is the only way to solve the problem if you don't have warranty. For me, It works like a charm.
