Guest Myk202020 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Downloaded Skyfire yesterday, so no expert but........ Check "Menu - Actions - Mute Audio" isnt ticked first. If thats ok, then are you connected using WiFi? Skyfire sends sound over UDP (Im not sure what that is yet! lol), which could be blocked by your WiFi access point. I dont get sound when I connect at home using my Netgear router, but I do get sound when using the phones G/3G.

Guest Root-dir Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 well after using it for a while its not all I expected dont get me wrong it allows me to access content I cant in other ways but Im really holding out for Fennec (thats read mobile firefox for those who are unaware)
Guest Squirmfenfi Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Works fine on my Vodafone i900
Guest smoothcrooner Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Works fine on my unbranded Orange i900.
Guest Raul6 Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 tried it, not even close to pie or opera
Guest Tonza Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Wow, this seems to be much faster and easier to use than Opera. E.g. that self activating mouse is an excellent invention (just use your d-pad while browsing)
Guest xtiger Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Tried it and removed it after 5 minutes of use. Bookmarks are horrible. Its a screen instead of popup. It takes forever to load each screen. The zoom is not very friendly and not even close to as clear or as fast as Opera. Not a fan at all.
Guest remnever Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I don't use Skyfire to replace Opera but I do use it to watch videos on Hulu, vid-stream, etc. No other way to watch these streaming videos if you only use Opera. Works great for that. Videos are very clear and sound comes out nicely.
Guest goodbrand Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 seems a little buggy, but will eb great to run along side opera for now... well until as root-dir said, fennec is released :(
Guest TheDrizzle Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 For me, it seems like pages load REALLY fast in Skyfire. Pages that take 15-20 seconds to load in opera load instantly in Skyfire. However, I do agree that the zooming is slow and not as user friendly, and the finger/gesture scrolling does not work as well as opera. I loved Skyfire on my old Moto Q, but I think I will use it occasionally on my Omnia to view YouTube/Flash sites and still use opera as my primary browser.
Guest dopeness Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 I have so say that I am very impressed with the "potential" capabilities of Skyfire. I am spoiled my the ease of maneuvering with Opera. However, being able to watch Hulu, and other sites with relative clarity - and no download first - was a big plus. I have no idea when the full version is due, but if they work on the pixel rendering and the navigation I will really give this a harder look.
Guest dusan_m Posted February 17, 2009 Report Posted February 17, 2009 Works. Happy to see real flash in action. Will this finally stop neverending "battle" between ROM cookers? :(
