Hey all. Im using a i910 on VZW. Just got a new omnia because of an issue with the old one's battery life. Well now this one wont sync. UGHHH >_<

Anyway, i go to windows mobile device center, and plug in my omnia. I wait and it eventually says "connecting" . Then it asks me to setup a partnership. Now after about 10 seconds the device disconnects itself and winmobdevcenter says the device partnership cannot complete recconect the device. Sometimes after the disconect, the following error appears on my phone : " A problem has occured with rapiclnt."

PLEASE HELP!

Try going to start/settings/connections/usb to pc and if the box is ticked, untick it or vice versa.

It sometimes works.

Is this a laptop that you're trying to synch on?

I have a Dell Studio 1735 and if I use my SD Card reader , my bluetooth and at least one of my USB connections stop working. I think what is happening is that the SD reader is a USB device attached via cable to the MB, which is feeding off the same USB power connections as the USB port and bluetooth.

Of course, when when power-hungry device "takes over", the rest are starved for power and stop working.

Maybe it's something along those lines?

Took out all my usb devices so its just the phone. Not that i used to when the old phone worked. Also took out my SD card...still having problems. BTW im using a dell xps 1330 with vista x64.

x64 is not going to help the situation at all, however, on x32 a similar thing occurs with me. Uninstall the driver for the Omnia from Vista, let it reconnect and then install the driver again

Agreed.. x64 is a major PITA when it comes to quirks... When it works, it work GREAT, but things like this drove me back to x32.

That's completely normal. It's just installing the driver for the phone.

Is it doing it every time you plug the phone in, or just the once? It should only do it the one time.

Just when i got the second omnia plugged in. It obviously also did it when i plugged in my first omnia months ago, but the drivers shouldve been the same. I smell a glitch. The version number of my old omnia was 8.11 and this one is 8.12 ... anythoughts ?

I'm running out of ideas.

Is this a USB 2.0 port?

Is it running off of a power hub? Unpowered? or directly to the PC?
