Guest yazooo Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Hi, I have searched here, and done some googling to no avail, so time to post. Am running DXIA2-QB05M from Qbus - a nice rom. I have tried the Custom User Agent trick in Opera, by entering 'sgh-i900'. My original field was blank, so I also tried navigating to whatsmyuseragent.com on my phone, copying that in, putting sgh-i900 after it. Again didn't work. Also tried putting it as a HTC. Same result. Essentially when I browse to iPlayer, anything I click on media wise just loads a white blank screen. This happens on 3G or wireless. Changing the opera setting where it identifies the device as handheld or desktop doesn't seem to have an effect either. Browsing to bbc.co.uk/mobile/live/tv makes a little difference. Here when I click on a link opera prompts me to open or save a .sdp file. Clicking open launches core player, which then stops with an error of unrecognised format. Removing file associations from core player then stops anything from running the file, opera just sits there. Skyfire is no better for me. Trying a video doesn't work saying I'm not in the UK, when I am. Radio apparently plays, but I can't hear anything!! Essentially no joy whatsoever! Any help or assistance greatly appreciated! Cheers.
Guest stevep113 Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Mines been doing the same today, With the J2 rom vodafone, maybe its the website?
Guest yazooo Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Well it's been like this since yesterday, from when I updated the rom. If I can't find a fix will try another rom.

Guest Maxwell Newton Posted April 1, 2009 Report Posted April 1, 2009 How you guys getting on? Im using Opera 9.5 and when i click a video, i get that little buffering icon but the screen is black and it stays black. Skyfire will play videos, but it is showing the iplayer website like my desktop does and so designed for use with a mouse. This seems okay, but the video is the wrong resolution and the buttons for play/pause are tiny! Looking on the bbc website, there should be a mobile website, but when i load the mobile website it says my phone is not supported, i have tried the custom user trick, but for some reason i cant type any text into that field, only number and other non-alphatbetical characters. Can anyone offer any support or updates on this?
Guest smoothcrooner Posted April 13, 2009 Report Posted April 13, 2009 (edited) Interestig development: I've just noticed this morning that when streaming iplayer, I can also save the contents to my Omnia. I've also noticed the stream content(s) name is "iplayer_stream_n95". For some reason, it thinks my Omnia is a Nokia N95, very strange but who is complaining. I'm using Taril's latest ROM but I don't know if that has got anything to do with it. Something else I've also discovered is once you click on the stream content on "My Storage", which is where I save the contents to, it automatically dissapears, so, what I've doing is saving the contents to My Storage and to my Video folder so that I've a back up. Has anyone else noticed this new development? Edited April 13, 2009 by smoothcrooner
