Guest BamDastard Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 Hey guys and gals! This is my first post here at MoDaCo, but I've been lurking for a long time. Here's the deal. I am getting my Omnia i910 tomorrow and wonder what mods are the most helpful. I have a long history with WinMo, but this will be my first WinMo phone. I'm looking for a direct route to the most valuable and functional mods you can think of. I've looked around here, but just don't know where to start. I want to get as much functionality as I can. I've been following the GPS unlock discussion since before I placed my order, so I know as of right now that is a no go. I already have SPB apps and shell and was considering replacing touchWIZ with that, but other suggestions are welcome.

Buy a screen/camera protector, after that read a lot (in this forum) and customize your phone with the stuff you need/like most :( About Software, i'm using a ROM with M2D in, and i'm very happy atm. Guest BamDastard Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 About Software, i'm using a ROM with M2D in, and i'm very happy atm. Well, I don't think we will have any ROMs for the i910 until the update at the end on Q1 (hopefully when VZW decides to unlock GPS). I got free screen protectors with the phone.
Guest SiLviO_ Posted February 15, 2009 Report Posted February 15, 2009 First you have to consume your battery and let the Omnia 1 night charging.
Guest zyc3 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 First things I would put on my phone are: TouchResponce (every time you hit the screen gives a you a small vibration feedback), Spb Weather, an alarm program, and a good GPS program (Garmin Mobile XT). Other what ever you want. I use Please read the site rules no links or requests for warez.com they have bulk apps and games.
Guest xPosTech Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 If you don't have a lot of faith in VZW unlocking GPS here's some BT solutions, most under $100 (some under $50). Then you'll have a GPS antenna/receiver you can mount most anywhere in the vehicle (like under rear window). The Garmin Mobile XT got some pretty flat reviews. Ted

I already have a BT GPS I used with my IPaq. I'm gonna roll with that until VZW unlocks it or the good folks here or out in the ether figure it out. I'm going to use TomTom 7 and I already have Core Player, SPB and some Resco apps ready to go. Any other suggestions?
Guest Number22 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Galarm for alarms, its really awesome. Omnia only has haptic feedback on certain apps like the samsung keyboard and opera by default. With TouchResponse, you can have it in every app.
Guest zyc3 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Get Asphalt 4 HD its the best game for omnia. And Teeter for omnia also is great.
Guest Omnian Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 the best test is dial this phone number *#0*# check the 3 colours (red green blue) for dead pixel (when you switch between 3 colours) you should NOT see a bright/dark spot that doesn't change. The rest of the test are pretty obvious. (http://www.ppcsg.com/index.php?showtopic=104657)
Guest ZiTe747 Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 (edited) BamDastard, the very first thing you should do is to get you a nice protective case :( ( that's for sure ! ) Edited February 16, 2009 by ZiTe747
Guest BamDastard Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 Thanks everyone! I just got it up and running. I installed SPB Shell and I'm not really liking it on here. It was great on my IPaq, but come on... I was looking for info on Manilla 2D and someone said it is on here. I am going to hunt for that now.
Guest Stoneboy Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 The first thing I'll do: Is to call mine 'Mom' and say: I've mine Omnia i900!!!!..... :(

Very first thing to do, hard reset. Rest is up to you B)
