Guest Omnian Posted February 16, 2009 Report Posted February 16, 2009 I find the front middle button of the Omnia really useless. Arrow up and down is slow and inaccurate. Is it possible to customize the click of the middle button to launch a program? Can registry or program do it? Thanks in advance.
Guest saalooo Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 OMG Nice! Thank you very much, just what I needed!
Guest Omnian Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 AE button is good EXCEPT, it overwrites the auto brightness function for the Omnia :( and there is no way to disable it. Just a note, install AE button in the Omnia's main memory not My Storage. If you can live with the issue above, it looks good.
Guest Cutefox Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 hey it didnt overwrite my autobrightness on my omnia.. i got the 2.65 version of aebutton.. i know it got brightness settings as well but didnt affect it.. i think its very hard to notice it change but try covering the sensor with ur thumb, u will see slightly how it gradually goes down in brightness step by step..
Guest Cutefox Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) You can use AE Buttons Plus :( actually i tried to add button in aebutton for the middle button.. no luck.. it 'll ask to reset and after reset its gone... no middle button still.. edit: dont worry about it.. i retired it and it works now.. dont know why it didnt.. i assign single press as enter and long press to activate main menu.. its like iphone now.. lol.. I am using 2.6.6. What i mean is that in Settings>Backlight, you have auto adjustment and manual adjustment. After shutdown and restart, AE button will change the setting to Manual Adjustment. I overcome this with phonealarm where the profiles you can set to auto adjustment again. But for others without phonealarm maybe this problem will happen?
Guest Ang3lo Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 (edited) Maybe that's why the light sensor doesn't works with G-Alarm... I'm going to try it and I'll report. Edit : After AE Button uninstall it changes nothing with the light sensor. Edited February 18, 2009 by Ang3lo
Guest Cutefox Posted February 18, 2009 Report Posted February 18, 2009 i guess use 2.65 then.. whats extra in 2.66? 2.66 suits me quite well so far.. the only thing ae button cant do is mortsripts stuff..
Guest Omnian Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Decided to uninstall AE Button. Feel that it slows down the Omnia too much. Back to my search for a registry method to change the middle button...
Guest citin Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Hello. I'm using AE button plus 2.6 with my omnia to lock the phone (with s2u2) using the hang up key (called red key too) The problem is that i can't selet that key to be be used as a long press button (it doesn't work!!) But if i use the ae button plus (that i recomend!!) just with a double press button it works perfect Well... i must say i had to congigurate the hang up key with a single press as "red button" to works well using the phone funcion to hang up. I have installed the AE Button plus in the store memory (omnia 16gb memory) no in the programs memory. And it works. Must i have install it in the main memory??? I dont feel omnia runs slow now. But... IS VERY INTERESTING to know a registry method to change buttons... (midlle and hang up key) PLEASE LET US KNOW what you find....please!!!
Guest tensor123 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 Is it somehow possible, to turn off screen with any other button than on-off switch?
Guest dwethiswar Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Is it somehow possible, to turn off screen with any other button than on-off switch? I wanted the sort of the same ability, one button to lock device and turn off ths screen. quickest way I could think of (there might be better ways though): - I'm using QuickMenu, it has lock screen and suspend functionality: in options->commands, create .lnk files for both methods - create a .mrsc (MortScript) file in with two lines: RunWait( \path\to\suspend.lnk) and RunWait( \path\to\lock.lnk) - in Settings->Buttons, assign a button to the MortScript file and you're done
