How to Change Layout of Spb Mobile Shell

Hi, firstly this is my 1st topic, I am new to windows mobile, so please go easy...

First off, I have installed spb mobile shell,but it looks different to all the other photos of it I have seen anywhere; my layout looks like this video does http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/mobileshell/

and I would much rather it look like this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.p...;postcount=2630 with the 5 icons along the bottom instead of what I have.

...will it change to this if I install that theme? If so, could somebody tell me/link me to a very simple how-to guide to installing spb themes please -thanks.

Also I recently downloaded TodayAgenday 1.5 from here http://www.wm6software.net/today-screen/to...agenda_1_5.html

but again, my layout looks nothing at all like that in the picture, I've tried all the options/menus I can find, all my display shows is the date and time across the top, and my calendar reminders underneath that; no big digital clock, no menus, or little icons about emails & messages, Im very confused.

And 1 last queery, how do get iContacts to show up the Sim contacts? its is only showing the contacts stored on the phone at the moment, thankyou.

I'm sure the answers to these are probably very simple, I just dont know where to start, thank you all in advance!

You've got the standard mobile shell. You can customise it with 3rd party skins.

ok thanks, im on that site now, but they all say they require spb mobile shell 2.1.2 and I have 2.1.1

-does this mean they wont work at all..... i think I will still try

I have just found out the answer for myself... after running MortScript.exe and then trying to install 'Install_WQVGA.mscr' like the guide tells me to, it says

"Cannot find Spb Mobile Shell version 2.1.2"

pleeaase can someone p.m me the spb update...please...

Forget that ^^ I've got version 2.1.4 now. But I cannot get the "Release 3.1.1 WQVGA (240x400-Omnia) version (Multilanguage)" full package to work.

I put it into My Storage, then found it expanded the 'Scripts' folder and click on 'Install_WQVGA.mscr' like the instructions on the site, but it still says "Cannot find Spb Mobile Shell version 2.1.2" but I thought that becuase I have 2.1.4 it wouldnt matter?

Does anybody know how to fix this please? I really want these skins on my phone,

Where did you install the original SPB Shell?

I think it has to be innstalled in the main memory, that is where the script is looking for it. If it is on My Storage mortscript will not find it.

Yeah I put it on the Storage memory, I didnt know that, thanks very much! I shall try that later, my device memory is gettin abit full, but i'll have to move some applications onto the storage memory, thanks.

If I move the installation file of an application to the Storage Memory, it wont mess up the running of that program will it? I wouldnt have to uninstall and reinstall it?

(i think this is a stupid question - but im just checking)

No that still didnt work....

I have the Spb Mobile Shell setup file in 'My Device' storage and i just opened the .cab and installed it there, and I have the 'Spb Mobile Shell2.1.2 Skins Release 3.1.1' in My Device aswell, when I expand it it works, when I run MortScript that works, but when i try to open 'Install_WQVGA.mscr' it just says

'Cannot find Spb Mobile Shell version 2.1.2'

.............please somebody help, I dont kno what to do, and the standard spb layout is not that great.

No I hadent done that, so I tried it and ... yet again I get the same error message,

So i cut the folder and paste it inside the spb mobile shell folder in 'my programs' on the 'device memory'... then tried to open the install file agian, but i still get the same error..... :(

surley somebody must have had this problem or can help me resolve it?

However, the games (dice, bubble breaker, solitaire) does not appear in the games program button in the programs tab. Similarly, nothing is inside the navigator button. Am i missing something here. Appreciate any help. thanks

I gues you could try to un-install the skin and re-install on the Device, unless your short of space otherwise, wait for somebody to give you a better answer. I do not know how you make the games appear in the games program button but i did figure out how to put them inside the navigator menu so they appear there; go to 'settings' then 'customise menu' then click on the word 'games' not on the + box, and not in the tick box, but actually on the word 'games'. Then go to menu along bottom click 'add' then 'link' and select anything from the list to appear in the games menu, in your case dice, bubble breaker and solitare. do them 1 buy one. and check that they appear under the 'games' menu from spb main menu.

I just installed teh SPB Shell 2.1.5 and the SPB Skins 3.1 and it works just fine. I would recomment uninstalling your SPB Shell and installing it again into the My Device/Program Files folder. Also , according to instructions, youor SPB Skins folder should be in the root of your storage (either My Storage or Storage Card). I dont know how important this is, but thta is how I've doen it.
