Guest lukeyboymac Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 (edited) Hi guys, just wondered if anyone has encountered this - I've had this problem on my omnia for a while. The photo above shows it as best as I can get it. Basically there is light coming from the bottom half of the screen and leaking outwards. I have taken the pic on a blank white test screen. I'm sure I can live with it but concerned that it might get worse. Anyone have any ideas? It's been dropped a couple of times but I'm sure it came on after I used internet sharing for about 3 hours whilst using it as a modem for a laptop and it got very hot. Any thoughts appreciated. Cheers Edited February 20, 2009 by lukeyboymac

Guest Appelboom Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 i got the exact same bleed on the exact same spot
Guest lukeyboymac Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 i got the exact same bleed on the exact same spot Cheers guys, at least it's common I suppose :( Wonder what will happen if I go to my local T-Mobile shop and have a word with them?
Guest leethesparky Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 mines got that in the same place too!!
Guest dwallersv Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Get an i910 :( Mine doesn't have anything like that. Perfectly uniform, homogenous display. Just lucky? Or did they maybe fix this with the 910?
Guest JinSaiYa Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Ive got a light bleed in the exact same spot too. The only problem with the omnia (i think) is the really bad touch sensitivity.. I cant seem to calibrate the screen.. the top right corner is not well calibrated, and the rest of the phone works awesomely..
Guest justpratik Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 i m getting to but it seems to be little yellowish
Guest WideseaofEyes Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 I've got a VZW i910 and i have the same spot, mines a little smaller but noticeable and irritating. Do you think this could be the start to other screen problems? or has anyone noticed theirs getting bigger? FIX MY SCREEN!
Guest illusion786 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Feeew, i thought i had pressed the screen too hard, when i saw that mark on my screen. Nice to know it wasn't me & you guys have it too, but its a shame its there :( Question is why ?
Guest ungcas Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 i got the exact same bleed on the exact same spot Got 2 Omnias here. 1 has it on the exact same spot. Although mine doesn't seem as bright. And turning the brightness up to about 70-75% helps a lot. Unless it's a complete white screen I dont' notice it.
Guest Dr_M Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I've also got light bleed (not as strong like in the first picture), but there is also blue spot on the right side. Got screen protect foil on the screen and i tought thaht was a problem and than i've changed it, but the spot remains.

Guest Jay SCH.i910 Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 I also have the identical problem. I wasn't sure if it was from having the phone in my pocket or something else. The overtemp theory sounds likely. I noticed it about the time i started tethering too. I wonder if we just melted the light diffuser a little. I wonder what verizon's stance would be. Samsung should use opal glass or something instead.
