Washing out photos?

Hey friends, I was reading this article about tech stuff, and I found this small advice about what can u do if your flash its too bright!

Well our Omnia has that problem that sometimes that darn flash its so bright!, well if anyone has some more advices on how to fix this: please share!! here's the one that I found:

Too Much Flash

If your cellphone’s built-in camera flash is much too bright, washing out photos, tape a small piece of paper over the flash. Experiment with different colors and thicknesses of paper to tone down the flash from superbright white to a more pleasing glow for evening photos.

For the close objects put ISO to 50 and to the far objects put ISO to 800.
