Guest deepside Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 So I was travelling yesterday - I put my phone on flight mode using favorite settings, and turned it off.. A few hours later on the flight, I tried to turn it back on, but no luck. Since then, I have plugged it in to charge overnight (it had about 60% battery when turned off), plugged it in via usb, tried a hard reset? (pressed reset button and pick up and hang up keys, held down for 5 seconds), which did nothing, removed the battery for 10 minutes etc. Nothing works. When I press the power button for ~5 seconds, usually it does nothing, occasionally the red/orange light turns on, but as soon as i release the power button, the light turns off... Now, after plugging into USB for about 30 minutes, it turns on, comes up with "SAMSUNG OMNIA", and then the samsung sound and welcome thing... then black for ~1 second, and plays the switch off samsung sound and turns itself off. What could be wrong? It's under warranty, and i've had it ~30 days, but i'd rather just fix it here than spend time sending it in etc. Regards
Guest deepside Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 I tried, but i can't get the samsung menu up I tried reset+pick up and hang up power + pick up and hang up nothing is working...
Guest Gibeon Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Remove battery, clean the contacts and recharge, not via USB!

Guest deepside Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 how do i update firmware without turning it on?
Guest Chugworth Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 Have you tried removing the battery, then wait about ten seconds, and put the battery back in? If that doesn't work, then I believe your phone is dead.
Guest deepside Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 so i took it instore, dude tested my phone as is, and nothing - so he tried another battery, voila then took my fone into the service centre (as they are the only ones allowed to give a new battery), and had to leave it overnight. Got a paper saying 'customer needs to charge phone' was told nothing was wrong, and that the battery was simply flat i don't know what to say, as it had been charging for so many hours and no luck! ah well, seems to work now ...
