Guest Maxctran Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 I tried to update to Taril's newest rom from my t-mobile omnia (BOHH5) and something went wrong after it rebooted, and it died a ugly ugly death wouldn't switch back on or even any lights, well... i was suitably gutted but with taril's advice i took it back to t mobile and said it died after a hard reset and a long 20 days later they rang me today and said my phone is back, and i find out they couldn't repair it (so i killed it good and proper :( ) so they had to give me a brand new omnia... thank god for that is all i can say, and thanks taril for helping me get it sorted, i don't think i will try again with another rom, as that was scary enough B)
Guest BamDastard Posted February 25, 2009 Report Posted February 25, 2009 Seeing a post like this, even though you got your phone back, makes me wary of ROMs. I think we should have a stickied thread for bricked Omnias where users can post the cooked ROM they used and any model info the have for thier Omnia. It may help to prevent this type of issue for others.

Some Omnias seem to have faulty boards and then get bricked when you try and flash them. I flashed my and my brothers phone and i never had any problems with different firmware and i don't know anyone from my country that has reported any problems with flashing so i guess that we didn't get faulty models.

But with no real tracking, we won't know. We could use this to look for commonalities and there are, from what I understand, a few different hardware profiles. With the first i910 update to be released soon (hopefully) we will see roms coming out and would hate to see bricks in the US market.
