Guest DJRedLine Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 Hi, I am currently using PDA: i900XXHJ6/ACHJ2 PHONE: i900BUHJ1 Vodafone official ROM and would like to know where is best to go from now. Looking to lose such things as widgets / today1 and 2 and have as much free memory as possible. I currently use SPB Mobile shell and would like to install this afterwards as hoping to try out SPBms3 when released. Thanks
Guest refugeez86 Posted February 26, 2009 Report Posted February 26, 2009 maybe u can try tarils rom.. DXIA2
Guest abu123 Posted February 27, 2009 Report Posted February 27, 2009 (edited) use samsung original DXIA5 first, this is just recently come out. More so if you haven't flashed before. after you get a feel of it in terms of performance, baterry life, etc then you can try others sectors- spb mobile shell based qbus -clean and m2d versions taril - most of original apps - (I think he UPXes them so less storage mem usuage if so then probably use slightly more RAM to run the .dlls and .exe) others cookers I haven't tried Edited February 27, 2009 by abu123

Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialerWith the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#Select 'Preconfiguration'Enter code *#81230*# and select OKSelect 'Singapore', with the default OperatorAccept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESETRun update, and all should be well.

Guest Pete2 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I've got a vodafone omnia and I nearly bricked mine trying to flash an official rom upgrade. I was rescued by "Lufeig" and am using his LF104b rom. Its stripped of most stuff and runs great, leaves a huge amount of free memory after flashing. It also uses grandprix to update which seems pretty straight forward. Only advice I'd give is to use an xp machine to update and install samsung modem first. I also use spb mobile shell.

Guest sjhshaw Posted March 8, 2009 Report Posted March 8, 2009 ive looked through that thread and cant change the config of my phone is there any roms that i can update to without changing? Are you running a 3rd party dialler like Spam alert or something?
Guest ricey Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Are you running a 3rd party dialler like Spam alert or something? no the only thing i am running is spb mobile shell (which is awesome be the way) and it still doesnt work when i turn that off
Guest sjhshaw Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 no the only thing i am running is spb mobile shell (which is awesome be the way) and it still doesnt work when i turn that off I found this post: It should be easy for you, first change the phone to UK (THIS WILL DELETE EVERYTHING!!!). Second Change the version in the phone's registry (from ACHJ2 to XXHG1, XXHH1 or MSHH1) Go to Samsung Website and take the UK version - enter MSHH1 to access the download page. Install Samsung Modem and execute the UK firmware. Also, before flashing, read the forum to learn more about the process - this may kill your phone. I'm guessing your phone is UK already (I am not sure how you would tell this, depends where you got your phone)??? so you might be able to skip step 1???? It's purely a guess though, but might get you onto another rom version. Only thing I would say is to take note of the changes you make, just in case. I had a funny with trying to change default volumes on mine, turned out the phone didn't like the commands coming from another dialler. There is a guy in the "incorrect software version tutorial" thread called Mick3y, seems to be the guy to talk to, he might be your best bet (he is the guy I quoted).
