BJ II won't charge while connected via USB to PC

My Blackjack II no longer charges while connected to my Acer Aspire One netbook via USB.

I used to have Activesync 3, and WM6.0 installed on the phone. It worked great - the phone would charge as long as it was plugged in to the computer, whether using ICS or Activesync. When the phone crashed, I did a hard reset and upgraded to WM6.1. I also had to "upgrade" to ActiveSync 4.5. Now the phone only charges for a few seconds, then makes a cute little "beep-beep." Then the charging light blinks a few times, and goes out

So how can I get the phone to keep charging like it used to?

I fixed it!! I found it was the CABLE, thanks to the forum on myblackjack2 (dot) com. It appears that the only USB cable that will support charging after upgrading to WM6.1 is the cable with the Samsung part number APCBS10BBE.

That's interesting. Is that the cable that came in the box or a different one, because my cable still lets me charge my phone and I'm just using the same one I got with it a year ago

Yes, I believe it's the one that came with the phone. The USB cable from the headphone/cable accessory kit that I got from AT&T did NOT work after switching to WM6.1.

Manufacturers are missing a good deal - they should market these phones as electronic games and puzzles - like Sudoku puzzles. The updates are like an endless supply of new brain teasers. It's driving me nuts!
