This will not be useful to anyone who has a single wireless Access Point in their network (which is most people).

If you've set up your network with more than one AP to get better coverage and performance throughout your home/SOHO, and are having problems connecting with your Omnia, this may be your problem...

The Omnia apparently doesn't like multiple APs with the same SID. It's supposed to be just fine with this, and in fact do a graceful handoff when moving from one to the other as signal strength changes. This is what every typical laptop NIC does with no problem.

That's my setup -- I have two in my home, both were set up for the same SID (hence a single wireless network "view", with only one network needing to be set up on the laptop). I could not get my Omnia to connect to anything no matter what I did. Even stripped things down to the simplest, unprotected connection possible, and it still would not connect.

Problem was solved when I configured each AP with a unique SID. Then the Omnia would connect the either one flawlessly, with any means of security I wanted (I'm using WPA2), and does a pretty graceful handoff from one to the other as I move through the house.

It's an annoying bug, as I had to configure both the omnia and my laptop (and my PSP and my son's PSP and a few other things) for both network SIDs, but all works very well now.

So, if you're set up like I was and your Omnia simply will not connect no matter what, give the above solution a try.
