Guest jaysinghania Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 Hi, I've just installed TomTom Navigator 6.0 on my Samsung Omnia and the only map the program came with is named Guam. The installation seems to be successful as I can change perferances, etc, but no GPS device is being detected. Therefore, my two questions are: 1. Where can I download UK maps from? 2. How do I go about configuring my device/the TomTom software such that TomTom detects the integrated GPS of the Omnia? I am a new member of this forum and have seen many useful threads in relation to the Omnia. Consequently, I hope someone will be able to help me with regards to these problems and many thanks to those who reply.
Guest bobobird Posted March 2, 2009 Report Posted March 2, 2009 It is obvious is'nt it ? http://www.tomtom.com/stores/index.php?Lid...re8u62ie026bv82

How do I go about configuring the TT software so that it picks up the integrated GPS of the Omnia? Do ports need to be changed on the Omnia, etc? Many thanks to those who reply.
Guest bobobird Posted March 3, 2009 Report Posted March 3, 2009 (edited) TT does not automatically recognise the gps hardware on the Omnia. Use port splitter software eg GPSgate, setup a virtual port and it should be ready to go. You should know the port number that TT is looking for and set the gpsgate port to the same number. While you are at it change the Omnia's port from COM3 to COM8 before setting up the port splitter. There are a couple of threads here that discuss this - do a search. Edited March 3, 2009 by bobobird
