Quake and classic games reformatted?

Since our new toy has an odd screen format, could we get anyone with mad skillz to reformat the most popular old school games to our screen sizes? Games like Quake and even our old pal Doom won't run right in their mobile configs for me as the screen is wackO. Really, 320 x 400? What were they thinking. : p

Anyway, not smart enough to figure it out on my own but if we could get a gfDoom or Quake going I would love that.

How would you play them without many physical buttons?

Remap the phone buttons or, there is a 4 way joystick on the front of the phone with an action button (most folks forget that). That would give movement and attack, map phone buttons for weapons change and open for doors. That takes care of 90% of the actions to play I think.

I found this:

http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-downlo...a-ce-v1-1b.html

It says for "Pocket PC" which suggests its touch screen compatible, but I have not tried installing it yet. It says it only gets 5 fps, but maybe it will run better on the Omnia since it has a pretty fast CPU. Someone want to give it a try?

Thanks. I'll check that one later tonight. The big issue for me is when I try games formatted for standard res (240x320) pda's, I loose control of the screen and generally have to power down the i910 to get control back. Problem is the oddball screen res of 240 x 400. Throws off all my fun games like Invaders, Doom, etc. Need someone to tweak them for our extra real estate.

you're lucky, I have an awful optical crap which is unable to play any game, but I'd like to buy your device :(

Same thing I think. I just use it as the joystick, not the optical mouse. Or is yours the i900 and only has the optical mouse function? either way, I never use the darned thing so I hope someone will put it to use and modify a game or two.

try to play any game and you'll understand..

best bet on omnia is to go for a bluetooth gamepad.
