PIM and Settings Backup

I've seen some nods for backup software such as resco (?), but what would be a good solution for notes and especially Settings (I have to search for my Rogers MMS settings everytime I update the ROM).

I'd love to back up my notes and get all my stuff restored just by syncing the phone but I have no desire to use Outlook (no pay for it) since I don't use it for mail or anything else (I use Thunderbird).

Sync'ng would be lovely.
