Guest NewKlNGjames Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Any idea when every once in a while point ui will just exit? it'll take me to a blank today screen until I go to settings/today. pointui will already be checked and when I back out it'll start again.
Guest pballa2099 Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 i have it installed, how do i get rid of the red VZW UI bars?
Guest illusion786 Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Installed... 10 mins later uninstalled. Not many features. ill stick to manilla.
Guest Chugworth Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I installed it a few days ago and really like it. I was surprised at just how well the touch controls feel in this interface. Certainly much better than the Samsung interfaces, and it really makes me think better of the device. Pointui has lots of customizations also, so you can really make it look just the way you like it. I did find one bug though, but it's no trouble to work around it.
Guest feis Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Hi, I intalled it, overall left me with good impresion, but i have one problem. It doesnt fill all screen, like with manilla, there is an unused gap on the bottom of the screen. Any suggestions ?
Guest gianton Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Installed... 10 mins later uninstalled. Not many features. ill stick to manilla. Same here...
Guest theidoctor.org Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 I'll install it and let you guys know how it goes! only thing is that it wont boot as the today app and you have to start it yourself

Guest theidoctor.org Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 (edited) Installed and amazed! i have an i910 and have been using the samsung today as my main today page... i love this one! its like a steroid version of the samsung 2 with a much much much much more touch touch touch user interface! Great name for it lol... i like the colors... and i have already seen some nice themes for it... im keeping an eye out on the osx theme! I am gonna miss it when they come out officially and cant buy the pro version! anyways, everything is easy and very customizable and fast!!!! i'll tell you more as i keep using it! UPDATES: 3/6/09 *Can't use the "end call" button to go back to main page... there is a button on the bottom center of the screen to use for that function. *So far, adding applets is restricted... i deleted some i didnt want and now i can only add the world applet... But there is a seperate applications page for all your favorite apps.... and the scrolling with fingers is just as good as the iphone! *After each reboot of my phone, the weather data is gone and just needs a quick update *If you end "all tasks" with the task manager, it also ends the pointui interface. (if you install on program memory, it will not do that... THANKS Gibeon) All in all, a very fast, finger friendly today page! i am trying to access more of my apps easier without scrolling through all of them. Right now, im creating folders in my programs page with different categories, moving the shortcuts to the folders, then turn the folders into shortcuts and then add it to the applications page on POINTui. hopefully the logic works out and i'll be able to access all the different apps with a couple button presses... Guest sector Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 It's quick and takes up very few memory resources. it takes more mem resources from m2d. double to be specific. more applets you use = more memory resources. anyway im using also and have uninstalled m2d.
Guest Gibeon Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 *If you end "all tasks" with the task manager, it also ends the pointui interface. Install it on program memory, and it's fixed :(

Is there a fix for the Greek characters that not showing? EDIT: Haven' fixed it yet... just re-tried it. Edited March 6, 2009 by gianton
Guest theidoctor.org Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 thank you for that! i may try that later...i dont have too much to work with on there... wish i could get more program memory
Guest deviant24x Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 I've been really giving the newest pointui version a workout (2.0.18b) and I have to say that it has some very good features. Above all, one of the first things that you'll notice is that it is EXTREMELY touch responsive and smooth in its operation. You have to be a bit patient with some of the new applets, as people are just coming out with different ideas and have to work out some of the kinks, but there is some very good options that might keep you hooked on the interface. Some tips for people just picking it up: * You CAN have 9 applets with the free addition, the trick to it is, when you have 5 applets and are selecting the 6th one, tap 3,4 applets at the same time. I would NOT suggest more than 9 applets at a time as it could slow your device considerably. * It is possible to enter your own city location, weather and news data into the world map applet. A good place to go for instructions (the best ones I saw at least) is right here pointui community, cities.xml adjustment and then scroll down to LarryCos excellent post on that subject. Some Pointui pictures from my Verizon Samsung Omnia i910
Guest deviant24x Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 One more thing I forgot :( You can take out the search bar or make it use google mobile along w/opera (what I did) I'm too lazy to post where to find how to change this, but if you search the pointui community it should be pretty easy to find.
Guest Th3rmal Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Installed it. Much much better touch control and response, but as for functionality and looks, i prefer PointUI 1. Im sticking to my M2D for now.
Guest doppelganger63 Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Installed it. Much much better touch control and response, but as for functionality and looks, i prefer PointUI 1. Im sticking to my M2D for now. Same here. I tried it, but dumped it the same day. M2D is by far a better shell. (IMO)Especially the latest version. Steve
Guest fud.theturtle Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 love it, quick and gets me to what i want fast. very nice. has a BACK button. why is this missing in M2D / default . Browsing just seems so much better and faster. This should be the default UI on the phone period. I'm gonna play with others yet as I'm new but chances are I'm sticking with this.
Guest deepside Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 So far i've tried M2D - for about 2 weeks SPB Shell - about 4 days PointUI - 2hours so far I like point ui, it seems quite good, very responsive and scrolling is definately better... i don't know why however, faults: Inbox for SMS is default windows inbox - as is typing SMS. Can't someone make that part of the UI, the default one is fugly home screen waste a lot of space. I don't want a 'search the internet' button etc. A quick button to programs might have been more useful No nice incoming call screen/feature either, just standard winmo all in all, a reasonable UI, but still too much winmo in it for me. going to try it for a few more days
Guest sector Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Is there a fix for the Greek characters that not showing? EDIT: Haven' fixed it yet... just re-tried it. no it cannot. they dont support unicode greek letters and i dont think they will make it...
Guest theidoctor.org Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 there are a ton of themes and applets out that let you change the look and feel of your phone! the community of developers is already amazing!
