Usually when I align my screen it does the 5 points and exits back to the normal screen. However that has not been happening lately, it seems to go into a loop and I must shut off the screen and turn it back on for it to exit. I did a hard reset thinking that would solve the problem only to find I had to align the screen at first boot. After hitting all the +'s about 100 times it finally moved onto the next screen and I was able to activate my phone again and use it. Is it time to take it back to Verizon for a replacement?

Try using this instead of a manual allign:

1. Open your Registry Editor(PHM Registry Editor)

2. Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/HARDWARE/DEVICEMAP/TOUCH/

3. Click on CalibrationData

4. Value Data change to > 519,503 177,881 182,129 847,127 849,872

5. Click OK to save it.

Hi,

How do you open registry when you are still stuck in the alignment stage? Please advise details how to do it - am also stuck in this stage and I've hit the crosshairs more than 100x!!!

Many thanks.

I think that this could mean a problem with digitizer.

I don't think this is meant to fix the alignment screen but only gives the screen a more accurate if not perfect alignment via the registry tweak.

Tap and hold. It should move to the next target.

Don't tap hard, don't tap repeatedly.

I HAVE A SIMILAR PROBLEM

I BELIEVE THAT THERE IS A DAMAGE IN YOUR SCREEN, TO MAKE SURE GO TO PHONE AND PRESS *#0*#

AND CHOSE TOUCH, THEN TRY MOVING THE STYLUS ON ALL OF THE SCREEN AREA

AND THIS IS THE RESULT I FOUND .... CHECK THE ATTACHED IMAGE

NOTICE THE UPPER LEFT AREA ... THE SCREEN THERE IS NOT WORKING B) :( :( :(

I finally had mine replaced by Verizon, the alignment is dead on however I think it is a REFURB there is a small "brighter" area than the rest of the screen. Not too noticeable though.

Yeah, many of us have this spot on the screen - it`s really annoying because it`s small but noticable B)

There must be a part of the hardware behind the screen that presses against the lcd or something. Either way I have an all black theme now and I can't notice it at all.

Yeah, I`m using a black theme with SPB Mobile Shell too, but it`s in the back of my head that there is a spot B) :(
