Guest MrJoneswii Posted March 7, 2009 Report Posted March 7, 2009 Hi i recently downloaded the last "FRANLOV_ROM_SAMSUNG_i900_OMNIA_DXIA2_MANILA_REV2_I900" but this is the first time i would flash my Omnia, and im curious about some stuff.... When you run this type of software does it erase everything on your phone(like contacts, installed programs, photos, videos etc) and the second thing is how do i reset the Omnia to the original ROM? well thanks in advice I'm guessing you already know that you need to do it on an XP computer, that it voids your warranty, blablabla Regarding your doubts. Flashing your omnia with a new rom will not delete data on "My Storage" but the rest will be erased. Contacts: gone; installed programs: gone; photo's and video's: depends if they are stored in my storage or not. Even though I know that flashing will not delete my data, I always make a backup before flashing, just in case. You can backup contacts trough outlook, programs you'll have to install again. Resetting the omnia back to it's original rom is not as easy as pressing a few button's and voila. You'll have to flash your omnia again with the original rom. If you can't find your rom online, look in this forum for topics that explain how you can dump your own rom. I urge you to have a backup of your original rom cause I was stupid enough to flash without having the rom. BTW: I'm seeing that your using a franlov version, meaning that's in Spanish. Do you by any chance have a an omnia purchased from vodafone in Spain? cause If you do, I'd be grateful for the original rom :(
Guest voornaam3884 Posted March 17, 2009 Report Posted March 17, 2009 take out storage card, put phone offline but with sim. use self extracting .exe rom flasher and not .mlf a single fault in downloading .mlf file and your phone is bricked. before flash hard reset phone so you personally erased it to ensure stability before the flash. is it your first flash? use an original update
