Hello,

Anyone facing that suddenly your Omnia is no sound but it fine after you had a restart.

This is a bug on DXIA5 firmware?

Yes me!

Are you using iconsoft phone extender, i think that is the problem! For Me happens when i receive a sms, then the sound goes off. It happens on DXIA2 too.

I get this problem too and i'm on DTHJ9 but I am not using iconsoft phone extender. This sound problem is really frustrating me especially when I use the alarm, it never wakes me up :(

I had this problem with Shokka's previous ROM version. I noticed it happened every time I plugged the phone in to recharge it. As EseJ said, this was particularly a problem before realising there was even something wrong so I couldn't hear my alarm!

Currently on the latest - DXIA5/SHK15M and haven't had any problems so far. Will update if I experience anything differently later on.

Just checked my phone - Has occurred once again! There is no sound from the phone, however when I press the 'End Call' button there's a small popping kind of noise. Problem is fixed after restarting the phone but this may get very annoying indeed . especially over the last week when having to check the sound works, remembering to restart the phone before bed each night.

Okay....i have got a temporary issue resolving trick.

turn OFF your phone....take the battery out and wait for 5-10 minutes....Then put the battery back inside and turn the phone ON.

Sound will be back.

I guess there are some capacitors which need to be discharged so you have to wait.

Yep it happened to me occasionally but I really could not tell why, very annoying to reset it. Before that happened it could be the email sound notification stopped, or something I couldn't remember. It is very hard to reproduce the problem. It must be some conflict among the installed media apps (with sound) but I don't have a lots installed but only good working popular winmo ones.

It happened with DXIA2, D1 and even previous J something.

Hey guys.

Anyone found a solution for this annoying bug? The sound disappears randomly and to get it back I have to restart the phone or make a phone call and then the sound is back..

Thx in advance.

Just posted in another thread on this, sorry for repetition...

I have this same issue. For me the end key still beeps, and I can play my ringtone (haven't seen whether it rings during calls when the problem occurs), but nothing else makes a sound. The fixes are no use to me, because I use my phone as an alarm clock, and I can't rely on it right now as the bug sometimes happens overnight.

As with others, a soft reset normally fixes the problem, but I will have to get rid if this can't be fixed. My phone is on qbus DXID1 clean, and the bug only started recently (never had it with DXIA5 or any of the other cooked roms).

Thanks for reading.

try to install this: sound driver look here maby fix the issue click me to go to sounddriver

hey, could anyone confirm if that actually works? I am going to try Sector's latest 23028 aka 'Apollon' ROM, as it has SRS driver built-in

I really hope this will help, because the missing sound issue is very annoying, especially when you use omnia as alarm clock :D

Hi, same problem here... In my case everything works perfectly with the headset plugged in, but no sound from the speakers... Have you tried with the headset?

I am beginning to think that the problem is that the system believes that the headset is always plugged in. I think there should be some kind of hardware switch being activated when the headset is inserted. My guess is that there is something keeping the switch always on (short circuit? dust?), but I have no clue about how to confirm that.

It used to happen to me every time i uninstalled SRS WOW HD (back in the days when it didn't work). After a while, the phone just wouldn't make any sound. If I restarted it, the sound would come back, but soon after, it would be gone again. The only permanent fix was a hard reset (or a ROM flash in most cases). However, ever since using Sector's WOWHD, this hasn't happened to me once, so my guess is that it was something left behind the old SRS drivers. (I'm currently on dddrko's 23031, but I used 23007 for a long time with SRS and I never ever lost sound).

I haven't had it happen since I installed Sector's SRS either. But it's the first time I installed it, only reason I put it on there is that someone suggested in this thread that it might fix the problem. And I have it disabled too, because I really don't like the sound, not a fan of EQ generally. Maybe it installs a driver that fixes the bug.

I hope some experts are reading this coz I am getting the exact same problem as you guys here, this is really getting annoying :)

Any possible solutions without going to a service center? it cost 106 bucks man to get it repaired.

Switching off the phone and getting the battery out does not always work for me, so does soft/hard resets.

Any help is greatly appreciated :)
