Guest Th3rmal Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) I want to upgrade my rom (my current one, MBHJ3, drains the battery within like 20 hours) but am unsure which rom i need to download which will work with 3 Australia. I dont mind trying out custom/cooked roms, official would be nice though. Any help would be much appreciated. :( PS. sorry if its been answered before, if so, please direct me to the thread B) Edited March 10, 2009 by Th3rmal
Guest Cutefox Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 most of the cooked rom will work with 3 aust. its a matter if they include the settings of planet 3.. otherwise u can always look for htc network wizard which shoul install the planet 3 settings for you.. i personally uses the pdaviet wm6.5 v20B rom.. have not problem with is so far.. alright to use for day to day as well..
Guest Th3rmal Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) Ah ok, thanks for that. I would prefer to have M2D with a cooked rom, but are there any particularly good cooked roms around? im not really into the cooked rom thing, so ill have to investigate which is the best (especially battery life) and how to install them. Im also looking at the HTC Network Wizard now, thanks :( Also, is there a way to return to the original MBHJ3 rom if i dont like the custom rom? Edited March 10, 2009 by Th3rmal
Guest Cutefox Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 (edited) just install Taril's Rom.. it includes almost everythin even the planet 3 settings.. its fuss free so u do not need to install anything else except for M2D i suppose.. but if u are adventerous and know what u are doing, try those lite roms and install what ever u need on top of it.. as long u know what you want in the windows mobile u should be fine.. u do not need to go back to any official rom.. with Taril's Rom it looks standard.. i dont think any service centre or the three shop can tell that it is a custom rom.. plus they are good enough to use that you wont go back definitely.. alot of new features since HJ1 to the current XIA5.. oh yea in terms of battery life the the XIA based roms so far lasted me at least 2 days.. i listen 2 music approx 1-2hrs daily.. use it to download email once a day.. fone calls about 2-3hrs.. alot of smses.. (10 - 20 per day on avg) and i am constantly installing software on it.. plus i also plugged it in the USB at work for transferring stuff to HD.. USB is not really charging much so wont affect the battery life anyway.. Edited March 10, 2009 by Cutefox
Guest Th3rmal Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 Qbus's roms seem to be the roms with the stuff that i want, and i am going to try them. Is it simple to install? I read the instructions from Tarils roms, and it says to install the Modem driver, i have done that, but i cant actually launch anything, as theres no .exe to launch from the place i installed it to, and the start menu doesnt recognize new software installed either :S what should i do?
Guest Th3rmal Posted March 10, 2009 Report Posted March 10, 2009 No i hadnt before, but its ok, i flashed it about an hour ago, with qbus's rom, everything is awesome now :( thanks for your help B)

Guest jason07 Posted May 5, 2009 Report Posted May 5, 2009 Just for extra info; Sector's new 3-in-1 and 4-in-1 ROMs will auto find your 3 AUS settings and setup your GPRS/MMS etc as well.
