Guest maf107ezk0 Posted March 11, 2009 Report Posted March 11, 2009 Hello, I installed GPS Gate and manually found my GPS reciever. Now what settings do I need to make for it to actually work? P.S. I`m using iGO 8 - is there a point in this app at all? Thanks in advance :(

Thanks in advance :( you don' t need any third party app to run Igo 8 ; GPSGate or portsplitter are useful for TT7 only I have a cold fix with Igo8 ( installed on My Storage ) within forty seconds

Guest ungcas Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Well, thanks! And can you please share this fix because it takes forever for the igo in a cold start B) Use the enhanced gps option under SETUP and download xtra data. Without this, it takes like 10 mins for me to get a fix.. With it downloaded, I got a fix in less than a minute.
Guest kav Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Well, thanks! And can you please share this fix because it takes forever for the igo in a cold start B) like its said before, u dont need any 3rd party app for the gps with igo. i personally use it and i get a fix outdoors in abt 2-7 seconds with at least 6-7 satellites. in the settings tab for the external gps, settings are default,ie program COM 3, hardware COM 9, baud 4800 and managed automatically, in igo, COM port is 3 baud rate is 4800. and yes, download the agps data before, and u will not need any other things. note that first time it might take a while to get a fix 2 min or something, but the second time it will be way faster.
Guest pekkala89 Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 I use gpsgate with igo8. IMO it has better reception indoor's than without gpsgate.
