Guest omerta Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Hi everyone, i bought an Omnia from Thailand and i was using it in Thailand and Singapore with no problem. All sim cards are working with all the functions. Here is my ph version PDA: i900DXHH3/DXHH3 Phone: i900DXHH3 As soon as i got back from my trip, i plugged in Fido Sim card and it doesn't detect. "No Service" all the time. I don't know what's going on because, since i used the ph all over Asia and it can't be locked. Plus the ph is quad band and should be able to use Fido (1900 GSM Band as per Internet). I tried to change "Network" setting under phone, but still Omnia is not detecting any signal. I tried that Fido sim card into my old ph and it is working. So sim card is not having a problem. I called Fido and they keep saying "Sir, it is unfortunate that your ph is not compatible with Fido and we can't give any technical help with other company's phone". Sigh... Any good idea or help for me? I feel like i bought a brick to throw Fido Store in Canada.... Help!!!

You da man! actually i was trying to change on "Network" tab. But after i read what you said, i gave a try again and it was on different band. Now it set to automatic and working fine now. Though Roaming icon is on. Have to check what that's for and make sure Fido is not charging me for roaming. Thanks again for help, really appreciate it. Now i don't have to throw brick at Fido stores. B)
Guest bobobird Posted March 12, 2009 Report Posted March 12, 2009 Excellent. No roaming charges - remember Fido uses Rogers' network so that roaming icon will show up even though Rogers owns Fide. E is Edge but I havent done the settings so no way they are going to rob me with their ridiculous rates.
